CoP 5-3 Three Paths, stuck?

Just recently back to the game. I got my BST to 99 and figured I would try and catch up on all the missions and quests that I never got a chance to do years ago. SO I did all Zilart last week, and this week is Chains of Promathia, and I've gotten up to 5-3 "Three paths", and I'm stuck and can't figure out what to do.

I bring it here to the forums because its a bit too much to type into a shout or even ls chat for help..

Alrighty, so I have have done the first two paths, the first "The Pursuit of Paradise (Tenzen's Path)", the second "Where Messengers Gather (Ulmia's Path)".

Now when it comes to starting the last path, "Past Sins (Louverance's Path)" none of the NPCs are giving me the dialogue I need to proceed with the mission. I've verified that I have indeed cleared Ulmia's Path, as I have the title of Ulmia's Soulmate, and the dialogue I have with Cid hints that I should head to Oldton Movalpolos to meet up with Louverance.

Up until now, I have been following the guides from ffxipedia and they have been accurate thus far....but using this guide http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Past_Sins_(Louverance%27s_Path) gets me no where. I have talked to the NPC in Taznavia numerous times, I get the same dialgoue over and over, I've talked to the NPC in Windurst woods, and no CS, went to Bibiki Bay, and nothing....

I can't figure out what to do, and feel like I've hit a wall. If anyone has any advice or any suggestions, it would be really awesome!

Do you have any quests involving Despachiaire active?

What's odd is that I can't even get dialogue from him to get any of those quests either. Is it possible it has something to do with fame?


btw only thing he says to me is:

"Is Ulmia...Is my granddaughter well?

I beg you, do not let anything harm her."

In a situation like this, I think it's best to just assume you did nothing at all and start over from scratch. On something as long as CoP 5-3, that's gonna be cumbersome, but it just might be your best choice.

Did you check your quest log current/completed. The npc in Tav also does 4 other quests. X Marks the spot, Elderly pursuits, Tango with a Tracker, and Requiem of Sin, check to see if any of those are open.

I checked a few times, I do not have either quest flagged.

As far as my quest log is concerned....It has said the same thing since I started this mission......"To break the Wyrmking's pact, you must locate the Keeper of the Apocalypse as quickly as possible. To do that you must first learn more of Al'Taieu, as well as find Prishe and the mysterious boy."

I think imma trace my steps on Ulmia's path and see if I forgot something.....although I'm pretty sure thats not it, especially since I have the title for doing that quest...

Is it possible that its fame related? Or perhaps I had to wait a game day, or until after Japanese midnight or anything like that?

After looking at the 4 quests that Despachiaire offers, two say

"The quest will not be flagged in your current quests. It will only appear in your completed quests if you are victorious.".....

Just curious, but have you tried going to Windurst Woods and talking to Perih Vashai? You may have everything you need from Desparachiaire... It appears that you can only get Tango with a Tracker if you have completed CoP as one of the requirements is that Dawn CoP 8-4 is completed.

yeah i just got done reading that, so that doesnt apply to my situation since I shouldnt be able to flag those two quests.

Went to Windurst, still didnt get the dialogue for this mission. I also just went back to bastok to talk to cid, and he talks about me going to movalpolos to help louverance to find jabbos...as he should. I go to Taznavia and talk to the npc there, and i dont get the dialogue i need.

I'm just finding myself running in circles over and over...

The only thing I can recommend is trying to retrace all your steps that are possible for the other two paths... Also you can try just going to bibiki bay and seeing if you can trigger the cut scene there.

^ in my confusion of this, I tried doing that and examining the ???Warmachine, I even took the next few steps, went to old molopolos (no cs btw), even went to mineshaft #2716 and of course, the battlefield for this mission isnt available.

Imma farm the gold key and try and see if i can trade it to the shaft entrance, and if that doesnt work, a step by step retrace of the two prior paths will be in order.

Volta I am having the same problem you did and I need help as well says in mission log I completed all the paths, but Cid won't talk to me anymore I need help

Super old thread but I am going this on my friend old account trying to cath him up, all 3 paths are fully complete, did all the mini battles and got all the CS. Even when I chat with the taru Yoran-Oran he advises me to get to Attohwa Chasm, in 3 years nothing will progress this quest, but since it is a secondary account I never much worry about it. Still stuck and I have chatted and back tracked with every single NPC. How ever in Boneyard the misa is there but I can not click on it as there is nothing to target.

That is the worst thing you can do on a forum asking for support, say you figured it out without saying what you figured out and fixed. Now Google results are fruitlessly returning this thread.
