View Full Version : Payment Problems - Living in Japan: Cannot Buy Crysta

Details:
I am a Canadian living and working in Japan. I wish to play FFXI with my friends. In order to do so, I must transfer servers. However, I cannot buy crysta to transfer due to errors I receive during the payment process. I have tried using clickandbuy (they do not support Japan so it did not work), using paypal (my payment is rejected by ultimatepay), have !!purchased!! an ultimategamecard and had that denied as well, and both of my Canadian and Japanese credit cards (both return the same 'declined' error). My SE-ID is linked to Canadian information so I think my payments may be being rejected based on the discrepancy between my current location and listed information, but how does one remedy this? Please help.

Steps:
Log-in my SE account, click add crysta, select crysta amount, enter card information (have tried both my Canadian and Japanese cards) and then receive an error saying my card was declined.

Date & Time:
JST time zone (Japan).

Frequency:
State how frequent the issue occurs. Please select from the following: 1. Always.

I have tried multiple times with no success.

I have spoken with an SE representative via chat as well as contacted playspan concerning my payments being denied. My representative was "Barbara" and she was wonderful.

They have told me to wait 48 hours and have a friend or relative who lives near my original address attempt to purchase crysta for me.

I'll update sometime next week with results.

Why can't you just buy from another country? In this day and age it sounds ridiculous to me...

In the end, I sent my ultimategamecard code to ultimatepay and they added the crysta for me.
