So I'm just wondering how much damage my fellow dancers have been doing with Rudra's Storm. I can only assume one would be able to reach high levels of damage if they used Building -- Striking (w/AF3 body +2) -- RS with aftermath on and "enhances samba" buff from AF3. So, what is your RS record in and out of Abyssea? I'm looking for just the WS, not any SC that are associated with it.

Inside Abyssea, I know I've broken 6k, but I can't remember on what. 4-5000 on Piercing-neutral targets isn't that uncommon.

Outside Abyssea, 2700ish is my max (for the one session I looked at) against piercing-neutral targets. ~2100ish isn't uncommon when Striking Flourish crits. I did 2200 damage to Jailer of Temperance, for instance.

I have never actually stacked Striking and Building Flourish. Aftermath and Enhances Samba AF3+2 bonus at least can't proc on the main swing of Rudra's Storm.

inside highest with striking of course was 5886 on tough detector mob in misareau (not weak to piercing but very low defense). outside highest with striking was 4206 on mouriche (mandragora) in boyohda tree. on easy prey mobs average outside was probably 1300-1700 without striking, spikes up to 2200 (possibly more, dont remember), and 2400-3200 average with striking, and some spikes obviously (as well as random misses). havent tried on anything really worthwhile though was mostly mandies in tree, with occasional morbol and goobue, as well as many leeches in sandoria basement, but thats a basis you can use on mobs with low defense anyways. forgive the spelling mistakes on the wierd words, without auto-trans in game im lost. outside abyssea it is worth using over evis in my opinion on eps (with twash) as it does about same damage or more and you get aftermath of course. as i said i did not fight mobs worthwhile with high def/lvl or NMs.

Some Mandragora are weak to piercing (it's kind of random). I think Detectors in Abyssea are also weak to piercing, at least I'm pretty sure the ones in Ule Range are.

Outside Abyssea, you should go back to Dancing Edge.

dont see spheroids being weak to piercing, just low defense and all melee murders em. my war throws insane raging rush numbers on them and isnt equipped that well. mandies are weak to it though. think the highest on leeches was around 3200-3300 with striking, if not counting weak to piercing. what are your dancing edge numbers?

I'm pretty sure I've done higher on Spheroids than would be possible if they weren't weak to piercing, but okay.

I don't know what my DE numbers are on normal monsters, because I've only been killing goofy stuff like Jailer of Temperance, Ix'Mnk, etc. or doing STP Fusetto +2 trials (I spammed wasp sting) outside Abyssea since I got Twashtar. On the monsters that I do fight, Dancing Edge regularly does better than unstacked Rudra's Storm. There are still times when I prefer Rudra's though, of course.

My favorite thing to do with Rudra's is mini-zerg. I build up 300TP and 5 FM between fights and then pop. I generally put up Haste Samba and Saber Dance and get 300TP back for SF -> NFR -> Rudra's -> RF -> Evisceration. If I'm /SAM, I can go Sekka -> Evisc -> RF -> NFR -> SF -> Rudra's to close with Rudra's. If I get lucky, it can do over 12000 damage. After that, I just ride Haste Samba/Saber Dance/AM3 until the monster dies, then farm another pop and build TP. I hadn't thought about doing it before, but I could throw Building Flourish in there before the first WS for a little more damage even.

I think my priority when servers come back up will be to test Striking Flourish crit rate with AF3+2 body.

all i could say is maybe the spheroids are weak to all physical damage? raging rushes were easily doing 4-5k on the ones in aby-altepa, and thats just with warlords axe and no af3+2s. made me mad really, WAR i dont care about does so much more than other jobs i do care about with way less effort, anyways thats some emo for another time.

unfortunately the crit % with af3+2 body seems to be 50% even with atmas and "+dex". i was hoping it all stacked together for a high %, but (without parsing, eyeballing) seems to be every other ws, or 2 crit, 2 non crit and so on. ill def test DE vs rudras outside after servers up. i was just fighting leeches and mandies for the parz DA+10 offhand, they werent intentional mob families of choice to test or anything. for an ability that is only every 2 min, the % could definitely be higher (or 100% with body).

edit: easy testing of striking % is by using it with rr/gh would be 50+30+20 = 100, and it absolutely isnt 100 with those 2 atmas.

Masamune recently suggested that crit rate on weaponskills may cap at 50%. I'm going to first try to determine what it is on normal hits, and then try SF-Rudra's... Or do both tests at once because otherwise it'll take me forever to get 100TP <_<;;

Also, 4-5k with Raging Rush is pretty typical on trash mobs if you're getting Triple Attack procs. I use an Atlas +2 (STR/Atk path) when I go out. Spheroids definitely have lower defense than Bluffalo though (Buffalo have a DEF boost to match their xp boost).

Am I the only DNC that prefers Evisceration over Dancing Edge?

While it is true that I haven't tested a CHR/AGI macro set for it, Dancing Edge has always given me small numbers compared to Evisceration. In my case, I usually get 600-800 with Dancing Edge, and 900-1,300 with Evisceration.

agi set for? assuming you mean ws mods, DE is dex 30/chr 40 or something. outside abyssea people generally focused on str/dex though.

I've always seen them about equal. I imagine with all the crit+ equipment now Evis might pull ahead outside.
