Hello everyone. I'm a 33 RDM 21 NIN 13 WHM on the Quezecoatal (sp) server.

I haven't played for a while and i'm wondering what I should be doing to get caught up?

I'm in full L30 Centurion Gear with only 10k Gil and no other gears except low level stuff.

Should I be leveling RDM still? Are they still in pretty good demand? Or should I go more for a DD? I also like healing, are they needed more?

I'm currently in Jeuno, and am Rank 2 (on the final mission to get Rank 3) for Bastok.

Where should I be going to get PT's for EXP? What should I be doing, working on the Ranks? Just getting levels? Questing?

any help or direction would be great. This MMO is rather huge and far away from a level 33 Main character as far as content goes, so i'm just overwhelmed hehe.

Thanks!

You're actually in pretty good shape gearwise for an RDM your level. Don't feel like it's a bad start.

WHM is actually the simplest road "to the top" at this point, but leveling as you knew it? Gone. The days of the "exp party" are dead.

The common road these days are exp -alliances- rather than 6-man parties, using a system called "Grounds of Valor" to generate experience points. 10-30 or so in Gusgen, 30+ in Crawler's Nest is common. It's an almost constant cycle- as people drop, new ones generally show up.

Geting your fame up is still handy- quests are often the best way for a mage to pick up spells that are 100's of thousands of money otherwise, like the crag teleports, Drain, or Warp. It's worth it to find quests you can do repeatedly to up your fame, but the level-up process tends to be a lot faster. Even soloing, I've done 10-24 on a job in a single jaunt in Dangruf Wadi...on easy prey in a few hours.

If you've got all your expansions up through Abyssea, make sure you visit Joachim in Jeuno (You'll see a cutscene when you enter that part of Jeuno, he's easy to find. That'll start a timer for what are called "Traverser Stones" to enter the Abyssea expansion area, and expect to spend significant time there in the future, it's the current endgame area.

Even soloing, you're going to find it's significantly easier to "power up". Take some time, check the AH for what's hot salewise and your Gil supply will be much easier to increase. Lower level gear is much less common on the AH, so conquest gear like your Cent armor (remember, you can buy CP gear from nations ranked below yours!) is more precious, and you may need to politely ask a crafter as you go along to make things- bring the materials, offer a tip, be polite - or learn where to travel for what you need, or even take up crafting yourself. The real limited will be outfitting yourself with spells and gear along the way- and many people skip doing that a lot more often than they would, say when Treasures of Aht Urghan was the newest expansion.

A LOT of level caps are gone. Given a few more levels, you can solo the last rank 3 mission. By the mid-40's, soloing rank 4 isn't tough either. The old level 50 Maat quest is considerably easier as long as you can sneak around the appropriate zones. Many dungeons now have areas that were once populated with low level mobs restocked with MUCH (80+) tougher ones. Keep your eyes open. Likewise, the Chains missions and level capped areas....aren't. Be wary of nastier monsters in some expansion areas as well, S-E wasn't always nice about where they put them.

Any other questions you got, ask away. :)
