View Full Version : The "Other" merit category

This was just something I've been thinking about for awhile... but for being "other" the choices are.. pretty lame when there could be so much more added to it stuff like:

- Buff duration
- Skill up rate
- Movement speed
- Physical damage taken
- Magical damage taken
- Damage taken
- Spell casting speed
- Weaponskill damage
- Weaponskill accuracy
- Resist effects

If they by some chance did add any of them, make them go past whatever caps they might have since they do cost merits, and also increase the amount of merits you can put in the category.

These are just some ideas I thought they could add to the "other" category, feel free to add more, or say its a terrible idea or whatever lol.

Critical Hit rate up and Enemy Critical Hit Rate Down are fine.

The great thing about the Other category is that there are two obvious choices so you don't have to worry about the merit system screwing you over if you like the wrong combination of jobs. Because, y'know, you might want to use the job system.

Honestly most people don't mind the grind aspect to it that much, or will at least tolerate it. So if the point is to buff players outside of gear in the future, why make them choose based on flawed design?
