DA+9 or OaT?

2 LS buddies and I decided to go do polearm trials for the double attack polearms.
alot of people said the OaT polearm was the best but now we also read that the DA+9 polearm is better. but these discussions were not upto date.

some advice would be nice :D discusss

The only reason to go DA over OAT is because DA can proc on WS, whereas OAT will not. Overall I would imagine OAT will still do more damage due to it's proc rate being ~50%(?) and if it misses you still have the chance of DA, TA or QA proccing to give upwards of a 60% chance of multi-hits on jumps or attack rounds (gear dependant). (proc order might be QA>TA>DA>OAT, I'm not certain on this).

So your WS will average slightly less damage, but WS frequency will be much better.

DA+9 is only relevant for 1h weapons but even then, STR weapons win.

OaT by a LONG shot. Only 2H weapon that wouldn't be OaT would the TP Bonus GKT and only cause of how Shoha and SAM work.

Would need to see the EXACT situation he was talking about. I say this because OaT has a much higher TP gain rate then STR, it is a situation similar to what the STR Great Sword vs the OaT Great Sword face. OaT wins by enhancing your WS spam rate. Even though it has lower DMG the proc rate is 45% @99. It's delay is also nicer to gear around though the 480 on the STR isn't bad at all.

Melee DPS: 19.1

vs

DMG: 132
Delay: 480
Melee DPS: 16.5
STR+11
Attack +26 (34)

15.7% higher without taking into considering the faster Tp gain rate. 11 STR and 34 attack can not make up for that kind of difference, even when tossing on some TA / DA to nullify part of the 45% OaT rate.
