I was testing the limits of ready moves for bst pets. Even though these are physical attacks, they occasionally fall subject to 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 reduction in damage which resembles resists.
For example, this is a list of damage done for tortoise stomp vs the mandy's and bees which are pretty much the weakest mobs in the game.

As you can see, all the hits are around the 2000 damage range, except for 2 which are below 500 damage. It is as if it were magic damage and resisted to only 1/4 the normal damage.
I have similiar samples from FlowerpotMerle, GorefangHobs, SwiftSieghard, and BugeyedBroncha.
This appears to affect all Physical damage ready moves. They are being weakened as if they were magical damage instead of physical. The headbutt numbers from merle really have 1/8,1/4, and 1/2 damage levels. These are not multihit techniques either.
