I purchased the Abyssia edition of FFXI in December to join some friends of mine in playing it and now I'm finally home, I've been playing from my laptop and now would like to add the game to my desktop. I have the files on my laptop but I think it would be much easier to just redownload it instead. I tried to use the link that SE gave me but the download has apparently expired (from trackmyorder.com). Is there any way to redownload it from SE or do I just have to deal with moving the files from my laptop to my desktop?

Short answer: No.
There is no official way to download the game (installation) data, outside of the re-sellers who provide digital downloads, such as Steam, and whatever it was that you used in the past.
With that said, you can not start the game by simply copying it over; it needs to be installed, so you need the install media for the game and its expansions. That is unless you want to play with the Windows registry, which certainly isn't recommended, nor supported at all.
The add-ons come with the game updates via the PlayOnline Viewer if the prerequisite expansions are installed, and registered (although I imagine they may be installed even if not registered, which is of course needed to be able to play the content, but I digress).

Are we talking about downloading through PlayOnline or some such, or did you buy UCAE through Square-Enix's own online store?
If the latter, I'd imagine logging in there would let you redownload, at least that's my experience with buying UCAE from Amazon.
