Paladin - Squire's Test II

Just started a new character after not playing for about 8 years, don't remember this quest too well. Can this be accomplished solo (I'm level 17 War)?

Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, here's the walkthrough for the quest (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/A_Squire%27s_Test_II) in the wiki. You should be able to complete this quest solo. As you come into the caves, there is a Grounds Tome you can purchase the sneak/invis buff from - not sure how long it lasts so bring silent oils with you to be safe if you can. Other than that you should be all set. Good luck and happy questing!

Yeah, the game has evolved quite a bit over the years. ^^ I hope you find it enjoyable!

If you've built up a few tags, you can save yourself a bit of alchemy at the beginning by using the Grounds Tome for Circumspection (Invis + Sneak, long lasting). There's usually a Jelly (slime) near the ??? marks, so be careful about dropping Sneak when you get there until you're comfortable. The weakest monsters in there will be roughly even matches for you at 17th, so watch it- but I did my tests at 25-26ish and got through it easy. Davoi is actually easier, long as you remember to bring powder and silent oil- there's no books in the beastman strongholds, so you can't just Circumspect through like you can in Ordelle's. I managed Davoi in a single dose of each.
