First off let me say that I think it's AMAZING that Square is stepping up and doing this for Japan. To see a company put the needs of the country ahead of the demands of customers is just unreal. I have to say that Square has really earned my respect in doing this.

That being said, and not trying to be evil but I'm sure at least someone else is curious about this:

Perhaps Square could come up with a special quest to make up for the time off? Maybe another one of the mog numbers lottery that they had in dec/jan.

Again, I really do not mean any disrespect for Japan or Square.

I'd say not billing us for April is more than enough. :)

Yeah what lolclasutrum said ( you really have one btw?)

I can see your point in wanting to make up for lost time but i don’t think it is nessercary.
I can see ingame items for donations though, I really liked that one person saying ill give us a 3rd mog bag thing.

I have Thyrus. Haven't been actively seeking currency since I returned to the game, though.

It is just about time for Feast of Swords to kick off, and that is followed shortly after by Adventurer Appreciation around May. Think they've done Mog Bonanza with that before...forget.

comeone its only 70 mil to finish^^ ( less then you spent already)

why did you take it that far vs just holding onto the currency?

Lol, a good question. I left the game for 3.5 years and, at the time, it seemed like a good idea to upgrade. I'll eventually finish it, but I've been spending a lot of time in Abyssea to catch up. I also started Gandiva, which seems like a more realistic goal right now xD

A special quest doing what? Do you mean an event in memory of the down time? I have no problem with a special quest but am a bit confused about what the special quest would involve.

Thanks for not slamming me on starting this thread.

Annewandering - I just meant that they added a short mission or quest with a nice item or gil reward to make it up to the players because the server was down. Pretty much just a hey, sorry the game was unavil, thanks for your support kinda thing.

Rambus - I hadn't thought of that, creating in game items avail after a donation is made is such a great idea.

Gaspee - lol, i agree tho i think they will still charge us. I would say tho, that a great item or equipment would be worth more to me than a month free.

What, like if we chose to be billed for the free month we are being offered and they took that monthly fee and gave it to the Red Cross, and then we get a rare ex white armor vest with a Red cross on it to show our support. I'd be down with that. Someone DEV tag it!

Certainly didnt mean it to come across like that. Just meant it as a thing the community could do as a community gesture.

It is an excellent idea! I would buy such an item for another donation, even if I didn't wear it long.

I think Breau just mentioned what is in fact, human nature. There are people that would see someone NOT wearing/using/owning such an item, and ASSume that they didn't care, or some such.

Sad, but human nature being what it is....

Trust me, don't bother, it's just a REALLY expensive toy. unless of course after the update currency becomes so cheap then go ahead.

Gandiva is well worth it, jinshu's is a top notch WS.

Yeah sadly thats true. Maybe it could be a decoration for your mog house, so it marks the occasion to you and is not something people would take as showing off or feel bad about not having. I really dont want that free month and I'd happily be billed for it if they gave us the option to.

I personally like the idea of Repatriation staff for donators.

Similar to the nexus cape rewarded to those who have the 3x add-ons, reduce the timer to 24 hours for the staff. Repat to your home nation without using tabs. Would give a small hand to those of us who have our HP in Jeuno due to Abyssea and ease of transporting via Maw warps now - Still uses a lot of tabs if you run out to the FoV, or takes a little more time to maw warp to an OP and teleport home.

A repat staff would be a nice special event item that I am sure people would donate for.

Although I am sort of steering this post into the same direction as the "Japan Tsunami Relief" thread that was created.
