Logitech Dual Action Gamepad

Hello everyone,

I have a Logitech Dual Action gamepad which I've always used for playing FFXI Online. I recently had to reinstall the game and now whenever I try to use the gamepad in the game it goes all crazy and makes my room or area spin like crazy and my character run around. I've consulted with Logitech troubleshooting but still haven't found a solution. I've also tried the FFXI configuration tool but that didn't seem to work either... Any ideas out there? Playing this game with a laptop keyboard aint exactly my cup of tea! :(

That's what happens to me when my controller starts to die unfortunately :(. I'm on my 7th controller now. I actually buy the warranty at best buy so that I get a free controller every other time. It seems to be an issue with the cord. The other option is that you have the mouse cursor at the edge of the screen somewhere but that's easy to figure out.

I've also tried the FFXI configuration tool but that didn't seem to work either...

Even the stick calibration portion of it? What about stick calibration in the Windows Control Panel?


Any ideas out there?

Logitech's current gamepads, when put into DirectInput mode (slide the switch to "D"), are 100% backwards compatible with their older models; Windows will even identify them as the old models when they're in DirectInput mode.

Dual Action Gamepad -> F310
Rumblepad 2 -> F510
Cordless Rumblepad 2 -> F710

Most credit card providers will automatically double the warranty of the items you purchase (for no extra cost). So long as you keep the receipt (or at least know on what statement it was on), you may be wasting money on that.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Dual Action Gamepad. Unfortunately as the issue is more with the gamepad itself and not the configuration tool, we can only suggest to reinstall the driver that you are currently using and to remap the controls using the FINAL FANTASY XI configuration tool. The issue is likely to be with your current driver configuration, so reinstalling or changing versions might be able to resolve your issue.

Another option that may work is to disable any outside processes. Here is how you would do so: Press the Windows Key and "R", then in the dialog box type msconfig and press "OK". Select the startup tab and choose Disable All. Once this is completed select apply and then restart your system. After which we would like you to try playing the game again to see if the issue persists.
