Based on what I have read, and obviously my own opinions, I would like to make some broad suggestions regarding the Evolith system, but first, I will outline what the flaws appear to be.

Like the Weapons made using Coins from Walk of Echoes, part of the problem with Evoliths is that we can get more powerful gear more easily. This more powerful gear is also less situational. We are not able to etch most of our gear either, so we cannot use it to enhance pieces that are 'good but not the best'. I think this is to prevent us from just maxing out certain stats by etching the same effect type onto every piece of gear we can get.

The issue with Evolith, then, is that it is 'limited twice'. Most of the gear we would want can't be etched, and also most of the evolith are very specific or not impressively powerful.

Making powerful Evolith would be very nice but it is probably not the answer. We would need to keep them very limited, similar to the way they are now, and probably need to limit certain things to certain equipment slots. An example would be if we had a powerful evolith like Vs. Undead: Attack +40 on an 8 slot. Then probably only body pieces would be able to get this type of slot, to prevent very large attack boosts by etching it on other pieces. Some people might prefer this.

Making less specific Evolith and expanding the number of items we can etch, if this is possible, would be effective, I think. This would allow players to get simpler gear and enhance it in a useful way. Right now, if we had an Evasion +1~5 Evolith, we could add it to gear and make quite powerful pieces, if we were allowed to add it to things like Scorpion Harness.

If that would also be too easy or too powerful, the middle would be to keep the Evolith as they are, but allow us to etch any item that can be crafted. This way, we could have a Scorpion Harness with its own Evasion +10 and add +5 evasion against certain creatures.

Considering the effort required to get Evolith right now, players may be interested if it becomes possible to enhance strong crafted equipment, instead of enhancing equipment that has very few bonuses.

Please consider some method of change for this game mechanic, because it is very interesting for more casual players, but the effort required in terms of time, and the limitations, make it less appealing than it could be since it does not allow us to combine a crafter's effort with a 'hunter's effort'.
