So it seems SE is discussing removing the level difference correction. This sounds like a major change for us BLUs. I know our sword damage will increase but will our blu spell damage also increase? Mostly hoping our spells are less than useless after this change.

They're removing LCF but giving mobs more def to make up for it, which means you need even more BLU skill to reach cap. Unfortunately, there's no gear offering 500+ extra blu skill >.>

yes there getting the def level, scaling would have given them but because of that def down has a much greater effect aka that extra def is now subject to it, where as before it wasnt. Still going to be hard for most spells to hit a favorable ratio without some serious def down on a side note tho, i think heavy strike will actually be more accurate on higher level targets after, assuming your acc vrs it still isnt floored >.>;

Should be an overall net benefit for BLU. LCF is what truly cripples Physical Blue Magic on anything T+. Though I would like to see SE adjust the attack scaling of Blue Magic, maybe by making STR a 2:1 or 1:1 ratio for +attack on Blue Spells.

Sadly the level correction removal is for monsters only.. So now not only do we have the extra high def to deal with but the level correction will still be a problem... So much for a buff to 1 handers... This update is basically making it play SAM or go get ready for ffxiv...

Mobs aren't getting the buff to defense apparently, only players. And there's the possibility that the 1-hand cap ratio will got to the same as 2-hand. Does nothing for blue magic, but swords will be better.

It's fine because sword damage is >>>>>> blue magic anyway. Blue Magic only for CAfflux Quadratic or Amoprhic Skillchains or random heavy strikes otherwise DoT drops heavily, especially with DWIII/Thaumas builds.
