Inactive ??? spots

I have no trouble navagating the Garlaige Citadel (if they can't see or hear you they don't bother you) or even Crawler's Nest. But I need to gather certain items like bomb coal fragments which are suposed to be at areas identified with a crytic ???. All I get is nothing but an equally cryptic "there is nothing out of the ordinary here".

Did someone turn off the prize machine? I thought it was possible to solo In Defiant Challenge by yourself now.

I know Garlaige Citadel is involved with a number of quests, some of which have ??? to click on as well. Not sure about Crawler's Nest.

This page lists the locations of the ???s you need for the quest. It may be possible that you clicked on the wrong ??? spots or you missed a step somewhere, making the ??? inactive for you.

To answer my own question: I tried restarting the quest with Maat and now everything seems to be working properly. It was only about a year ago I started the Defiant Challenge quest so maybe Maat lost his memory. Poor guy it tough getting old and senile.
