New player, looking for Linkshell/active server/tips??

Hello, I haven't played in a VERY long time. I was just curious as to what servers have life, and if I could possible join a linkshell.

I've got a character on Leviathan, lvl 10 monk in the dunes ( Have seen very few people at all, all of which ignored me except once japanese guy who said he didnt speak english)

And I decided to start a redmage on Bahamut.

It seems like most people didn't even want to type hello. :P

Also, I was having a hard time getting equipment on my monk due to lack of gil and I was wondering about some good ways I can rack some up.

(NoteS: Still currently on 14 day trial, trying to decided if I was to sub. Depends on whether or not I can find life and fun.. o.O)

I'm sure if you wait long enough, Arcon (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/members/863-Arcon) will reply to this thread typing out an invite to his shell on Leviathan if you send him a tell, as well as probably someone on Bahamut. And of course, if you feel like making a new character again, I'd do the same on Valefor.

You can trade items to other players (such as to give someone a linkshell), buy or sell things on the AH (which will roadblock getting any real gil outside of from Fields of Valor books), or send tells first as long as you are on a trial account, and this is one reason many players tend to ignore trial players. Keep this in mind, as it is a problem you'll run into a lot.

I have reactivated, and I started a new character on Leviathen. His name is Xanthes, currently just hit 19, and finished subjob quest.

Looking for a helpful LS now. :)

Also, what is the best way to go about leveling subjobs? Should I keep playing monk til a certain level, then switch to level my subjob. Or what?
