Cruor for Key Item's (Abyssea)

I know Abyssea pretty much over with for update's but me and the Linkshell was otw to Tahrongi Canyon to slave threw more pop set's for zone bosses. And I thought to myself "Man wouldn't it be great if we could just use our Cruor to buy KI's."

Seeing that atm there isn't any great use for the stuff. Thought it was a decent enough idea.

this is not a bad idea at all. it not much stuff to buy with cruor other then just brew but that really it.

i'm curious where you'd price them, too high and it's pointless, too low and it's game breaking. but there's gotta be a sweet spot where we'd say something like a carabosse pop "isn't worth the cruor" but maybe a glavoid would be?


but also, any pop you'd wanna buy nowadays, you'd wanna buy because you're farming for an emp. so that's gonna drive the effective price way up. only being able to buy one glavoid on the way to your ukon feels kinda pointless yah know?

This would be so... amazing. However, we all already know the answer. They made crour worthless for a reason. It's not going to suddenly get a new use... for about 2 years. Then, and only when the gear is obsolete, will this even be considered, because there will be an Abyssea 2.0 with AF3+3(augmented by killing +2 dropping nms repeatedly).

My thought's were kind of on this as well. The amount would have to be right or no one would bother to farm. We'd just all use cruor all day. My guess would be between 50 to 100k.

This is kind of a lazy move if you ask me and a bad idea. It means you don't even have to play the game anymore if you can get people to buy you pop sets. You can get people to buy you pop sets now but they have to work for them.

Have you been playing ffxi the last... 5 years give or take? People buy everything they can, someone is always willing to sell it. (usually way overvalued.) Words like work, and effort, don't go with abyssea, at all. It would actually be harder (aka take longer, nothing is hard in abyssea) to earn crour to buy a pop set, than it is to jump on nin/dnc and go solo it.

It's a great idea.Thats only true if you farm cruor in Aby like a fool. Go do VW for it and you can get something good with your logs.

It would still take longer to shout, form the party, pop said mob six times than simply going out and popping/procing nearly any KI mob. Unless you dont have nin/dnc in which case... you're sol.

You could still go as far to say on the off-chance it was freezebite, that you could do it twice, before the shout killing 6 would be done.

Point wasn't to do VW just for cruor, but to have a use for the cruor which is an automatic byproduct of doing VW for 1% drop rate items.

I see your point, but think of it like this. If the value of the key item is say 50k, and your spamming a mob like Galvoid for shells than 50k x 4 KI's x 35 fight "assuming you get a few double's" is 7 Million in cruor. Now idk if ppl have cruor like that just laying around. But that's a huge dent in any one's reserve's. And depending on the amount of KI's needed to pop a individual mob, you can always increase the amount of cruor needed to buy.

as a player who hasn't levelled jobs that let me red !! much I wholly support this. I can blue !1 all the live-long day and yellows are starting to be viable with my rdm, brd either /nin. But with so many players doing other things trying to get a group to red for a !! is just a pain in the ass, particularly since I can solo the mob popped with the KI, I just can't get the damn thing in the 1st place, unless I have a good run of dagger/staff procs. this is where the Dynamis proc system is much better-assuming of course there is anything about a proc system that can be called good.

This is actualy an interesting side effect i think we all overlooked. it opens up abyssea a little bit. helps mitigate the "diva" jobs issue.


i mean at this point most of us have just accepted it and leveled a diva job or two, but would it be so bad if we had a way around it?
