Hello,

Could you maybe add something in so that we could maybe have the options to put on a lvl restriction on some of the old or even new quest/missions. I think this would be nice because it would give some players the option the challenge that the game dose not seem to have for the most part anymore.

Thank you.

Amen to that, I miss the old days 10 years ago. Missions have no challenges anymore and would like the new people challenging there skills

I'd love to do an Old School lvl 30 capped Promyvion fight. Tie the CoP ring upgrades to it and it would be Glorious. The level 30 Promyvion fights were great because it wasn't a total zerg fest. a variety of jobs could go and everyone has to be on their game and had to have weakness items to have a good chance to win.

Unfortunately I've learned that Level Sync can't be used in BCNM zones, so you can't try, say, the rank 2 final mission capped at 25 now even if you tried.

I'm entirely fine with making easy/hard modes for missions like that. It shouldn't take too much resources to make, I think.

It could have some vanity item rewards or something for those who wants to do the fights as they were to begin with.

Inb4 having to redo all of CoP on "hard mode" to get updated lv99 version of the rajas/tamas/sattva rings!

Pfft, some of us did it on hard mode before it was cool.

Not everyone can be winners, Ziyyigo.

For some of us that was normal mode... :)

I say just make the fights scale to the amount of ppl who enter the bcnm and their lvl. But scale to the higher end and not the lower.

The higher the gap between player lvls would widen the gap in the difficulty. So say a lvl 30 would enter with a lvl 99, scale it to a fight meant for 2 lvl 99s but if a lvl 80 enters with a lvl 99 have it scale to a fight that could possibly be solo'd by a 99 with skills but more managable by the two. When a soloist enters it would scale to their lvl. So a lvl 30 soloist would face a fight meant for a lvl 30, a lvl 50 would find a fight suited to a lvl 50 and so on. Still makes the content doable yet challanging for soloists but doesnt make it laughable or allow rmt or anyone to just blast u threw it for a price. This could also be where strategic play Matsui is talking about could come in. Dont make the fight rely on the highest damage in the shortest amount of time, make the fights strategic.

Scaleable storyline content is becoming more common in mmos and makes said content a ton more enjoyable for the hardcore without making it impossible for casuals or soloists. You dont need any fancy scaled rewards or anything of that sort, leave that for the real endgame.

Actually I was thinking that should be normal mode too. Easy would be level uncapped, hard would be level capped with one less party member allowed to help.

I'm not sure what to expect with this effort, but I did promise the linkshell that I am a part of that I would try.

First, let me start by saying that my linkshell and I are avid FFXI fans and have played for many years with various linkshell members, characters, and jobs. We are devoted fans who sincerely embrace the idea of a game that promotes teamwork and camaraderie. The challenge of battle, loyalty to our chosen nation, and pride in playing our jobs well is always a draw, but the challenge of playing our jobs to the fullest and truly mastering the art of team play has been our utmost goal.

While many others have aspired to play to level 99 and complete the story line, our group's goal has been to master skillchains, exp chains, and other technical challenges. We attempt to complete all missions (Nation, CoP, RotZi, etc) at the lowest levels possible in order to reiterate the importance of teamwork. We pride ourselves in being technically proficient at jobs in order to benefit our party throughout game play. We find the teamwork skills taught by playing FFXI to be a real world benefit to those who have played FFXI, and we strive to point out those benefits to those who play as part of our team.

With this in mind, we have a request. Our linkshell and others would like an option added to the Chains of Promathia battles (once level capped battles, now not level capped) to choose to be level capped as a team. We feel being level capped allows us to better train as a team and exercise our skills as players.

The current option of ‘level sync’ is only effective provided there is a player with the target level on our team. This is a problem given that we are continually gaining exp during missions.

We do not want to infringe upon players who choose to battle without the level cap, but if it is possible to make the level cap an option, we would appreciate the opportunity to further challenge our team and develop our skills.

Best regards and thank you for your consideration,

Project VALOR linkshell

More importantly, Level Sync doesn't work in battlefield areas.

Some of us did it the old-fashioned way, twice!

Only twice? Feh!

I would like to add to this that to let us redo mission fights as well. And I am talking about if we wanted redo the fight solo or with other people without having someone who has not done the fight yet.

Why not just add a set of "Memory" fights that require you have completed a story BCNM before you can do them (Title unlocked.) Then have the monsters involved be Level 100+ versions of the originals...?

It is stupid to re-add a cap to those fights, but making updated versions that are difficult and challenging would be really awesome -- especially if you tied it to the level 99 upgrades of Rajas and other such reward items.

Why? It takes the least amount of time implement, and gear automatically level syncs to the level cap. The fight was difficult and challenging with the original cap on it. I'm not talking about re-adding the cap, I'm just want the option to do the fight as it was originally intended.

While I would love SE let us upgrade our CoP rings, I still would like an option to do the fights with a level cap. I would also like it so we can redo mission fights, without having to go help someone, just for the fun of it. SE could add the option for the level cap and let us do all the fights as they originally where intended and after doing them all, we can upgrade our CoP rings or get something else. SE could also make it so we spend merit points to redo these fights if we so want to. That would give a lot of the merit points that are not being used now a use again.
