I don't think they can fit all the stats onto one piece like that.

Saddly no they Can't, Unless some of those Things were Added as Augments. There's a 4-Category Limit on Items, For instance.
HP/MP
Stat Bonuses(STR/DEX)
Haste
Acc/Atk
Unique Effects (Enhances "???")
Magic Skill/Combat Skill
So on and so forth, Each being a Different Category. Pretty sure "Enhances "???" all count as separate categories too... Or not all are contained in the same. This 4 Category Limit is why Items like Kirin's Osode are possible (~12 stats on them, Because All "Stats" are 1 category), And also the reason Augments were added, To bypass this.
I like the general idea, But at the same time, Its... mmmm, Kinda just no. Macro's exist for a reason and while its frustrating, they can't just keep giving us Chatoyant Gear to save space and mash pieces together. Though again, i Quite like the concept, Its... Unique, But Probably impossible without nerfing the item, due to this 4 category limit. Though, i Could see adding "Augments" To Empyrean +2 Armor based on their respective Relic piece... Like say, Being able to Combined Relic+2 Head/Emp Head to Augment Emp head with Enhanced Breath Potency or something... IDK.
Either way, Impossible due to limitations on Categories for items... I'd settle for some AF+2.
I like that we have all these different sets, kinda. i mean, Every job has had their AF Redesigned over the 14 or so Final Fantasy games, Tactics not included, So having all these models brought back in different ways in FF11 is nice too.
Uh... I'm done rambling... Basically, i Like the concept, But its unrealistic and systematically impossible without nerfing it

Well it seems they are trying to find ways of breaking the games flaws apart and fixing them, like expanding inventory past 80 slots and such, if they can do that, its always possible they may be able to break those barriers as well.

This isn't a unique idea.
This was suggested a while ago that artifact/relic/emp could be combined into one item "Master" Item. The best part was this armor would allow players to select the best features of each and create user augmented versions from them into a new type of custom armor. The custom armor would not consume the other sets but you could only create one of each part.
The three downloaded expansions had armor like this but the choices where made off a list. The master set would include the bonuses that could be copied from the 3 parts traded. In this way you could have a customized set features from all types while maintaining the set bonuses in the new master armor.
The biggest problem with this though is you couldn't store the armor. If they could be stored they would reset when stored.

They'd just make it an absurdly expensive fetch trial rather than an actual quest. Sorry, but I'll pass on that.

In essence it shouldn't require extra fetch quest because the ingredient items artifact/relic/emp are already pre-fetch quest. I see what you're saying, they tend to overdo anything exceptional. The emp trial armors where the best baseline upgradable casual items they made. To bad we couldn't chose our augments.

I'd settle for some AF+2.
Ditto, AF1+2 would be nice for jobs that had good AF1/AF1+1 pieces.
WHM still hasn't replaced the gloves or the shoes, and barely just got parity on the pants and a replacement for the body.
For example, Ayao's Gages had so much promise for at least taking the WHM hands down for best Healing Magic slot if not the melee side of them, but went short of being a total upgrade for healing and thereby saving space because it is an upgrade for Enhancing, it still ate the sidegrade status for about half of what it does for WHM.
Then, Shedir Gages fall into sidegrade status with +10 Club skill and inferior with the +10 Healing Magic Skill... because it would totally kill SE to upgrade a piece of gear that makes White Mage heal very, very slightly better, or melee better, and so help them if they're expected to do it at the same time.
And then SE decides that doing AF1+2 would be too much work for too little reward, but refuses to grant upgrades from the truly good pieces of the sets.
I want an upgrade to Healer's Mitts +1. Something that is the best pair of gloves for healing and the best pair of gloves for weapon skills at the same time. And it wouldn't hurt to have a better pair of shoes for spell interrupt reduction too. Shoot, you don't even have to give it out now, just tell us that you'll have AF1+2 with Seekers if it is really that hard.

Honestly when they announced Neo Limbus I was really hoping for AF+2. Quite a few of the pieces still have macro and situational use's so was hoping to get a slightly better version. Then Neo-Limbus turned out to be just two boss fights and I was severely dissapointed.
Limbus was one of the best systems SE ever made.

Oh how I wish my dreams of Warlock's Chapeau +2 came true, with 12% Fast Cast, +10~15 Enhancing.

As a PLD gallant feet +2 combined with Relic Hands +2 for a good Block and Bash combo.

I certainly hope they make actual upgraded gear with the next expansion. No more side-grades. And certainly no more quests involving upgrading gear i got 25 or even 50 levels ago.

I like recycling old gear, especially when some of it is still used today. My RDM AF head never left my side, still sits on my head to this day, I only wish it were upgraded to a level that did it justice.

Yeah Pimpy (Warlock's Chapeau) and the Pointy hat of Awesomeness (Wizard's Petasos) deserve a +2 upgrade .

I feel like items like these would be deemed "too powerful" by the devs. remember 15 was the average highest stat on any item back at 75 for years and those peices were pretty rare.
