If Square-Enix says it's impossible, I urge them to take a look at these 3 examples.

- God of War 1 & 2 was re-released on PS3 with nothing changed. just PS2 games on PS3 disk.
- Splinter Cell trilogy also re-released on PS3 same way as God of War.
- ICO/Shadow of the Colossus was re-released on PS3 same way as Splinter Cell trilogy and God of War.

So there's nothing stopping them from releasing the new expansion in North America on PS3 and have 2 versions of previous releases on PS3.

- Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition for PS3 for new players.
- Upgrade collection for PS2 users who just need the game files but not the product keys.

I understand that Playstation 2 is old technology and Seekers of Adoulin will only be released on PC and XBOX 360 because they are current up to date technologies. Playstation 3 is also an up to date technology but seems to be ignored for Final Fantasy XI.
If fear that no money will be made from a PS3 version, think about how many people still using PS2 version will want to upgrade. I know I would in a heart beat.
