In regards to the accuracy of certain additional effects on weaponskills and blue magic, my post from FFXIAH:

My current hypothesis is that it has something to do with the way that certain additional effects resist. Currently I've only documented defense down, blind, and accuracy down additional effects having the problem, and I suspect that these status effects, possibly more, have some issue regarding the specific code bits that govern these additional effect's resist states; i.e. full duration, half resist, full resist. The only wrench in the scheme is Hecatomb Wave, which has no specific duration, however it's possible that even when randomized it can cut the randomized duration in half on a resist.

Currently affected abilities and spells (the ones I've tested):

-Tourbillion (Add. effect: Defense down)
-Sandspin (Add. effect: Accuracy down)
-Barbed Crescent (Add. effect: Accuracy down)
-Hecatomb Wave (Add. effect: Blind)
-Tachi: Ageha (Add. effect: Defense down)


Ones recently tested by others:
-Metatron Torment (Add. effect: Defense down)
-Onslaught (Add. effect: Accuracy down)
-Full Break (Add. effect: Accuracy, Attack, Defense, and Evasion down)
-Armor Break (Add. effect: Defense down)
-Shell Crusher (Add. effect: Defense down)
-Randgrith (Add. effect: Evasion down)
-Nightmare Scythe (Add. effect: Blind)
-Skullbreaker (Add. effect: INT down)


I suspect that similar abilities and spells would behave the same way. I can't test anything else, nor can I file a report on the official forums about the relic weaponskill(s) that are affected, as my subscription lapsed a few weeks ago.

If anyone wants to test some other things, the weaponskills I'd want to look at next would be:

-Gate of Tartarus (Add. effect: Attack down)
-Blade: Metsu (Add. effect: Paralysis)
-Guillotine (Add. effect: Silence)
-Tachi: Yukikaze (Add. effect: Blind)
-Tachi: Gekko (Add. effect: Silence)
-Tachi: Kasha (Add. effect: Paralysis)
-Weapon Break (Add. effect: Attack down)
-Wasp Sting (Add. effect: Poison)
-Viper Bite (Add. effect: Poison)
-Exenterator (Add. effect: Accuracy down)

-Shattersoul (Add. effect: Magic Defense down)
-Vidohunir (Add. effect: Magic Defense down)
-Garland of Bliss (Add. effect: Defense down)

Abilities and spells that are not affected:

-Blade: Kamu (Add. effect: Accuracy down)
-Shijin Spiral (Add. effect: Plague)

-Sudden Lunge (Add. effect: Stun)

-Bilgestorm (Add. effect: Accuracy, Attack, and Defense down)In short, certain spells and weaponskills's magic accuracy are severely diminished. See bold for affect spells and weapon skills. See italics for unaffected spells and weapon skills. These WS and Spells work fine on the test server, but do not work on the real server.

What is the problem exactly?

All of those added effects are difficult to land?

How do you know it's not intentional?

Not trying to hate on you, but just reading your post I have no idea what you think needs fixed.

Real server, they function perfectly fine on test.

Monsters range from Abyssea mobs down to lower level elementals, making sure that neither the normal monsters nor the elementals are negatively biased toward the additional effect's elements. Each spell and weaponskill was used enough times (15~20) to ensure reasonable levels of confidence in their inability to land properly; not a single one of the spells or weaponskills on the "broken" list landed more than twice, and all lands were for half duration.

Additionally, I used Elemental Seal on blue magic to ensure that it is a magic accuracy problem, ES caused the additional effects to land without fail.

Added Full Break to the list. It seems to support my theory on only certain additional effects being affected.
edit:Scratch that, false positive. the whole thing's broken.

Looks like it's a discrepancy between the test server and the live servers.

Yeah, and MAcc is very obviously floored for them. Whether it's intentional or not I cannot say.

this id definitly not intentional if they are working correctly on the test server but fail on the real servers. SE messed something up.

I fear the opposite. It's clearly not a problem that generalizes to all forms of the debuff.

its only affecting def, acc and evasion down debuffs. So something must be wrong there.

the effects dont even land on mobs that are decent challenge or bellow, let alone on things that are even match or above, you dont want to tell me this is intended right?

No, but i do want to tell you that it isnt only affecting def, acc, and evasion down debuffs

Well the issue is affecting everyone anytime they cast the spell, so what should I write instead? Should I just place a random entry or just place one specifically for my character (ex: Race would then be Elvaan even if the issue isn't just for Elvaans)?

In order to follow this up, I went out and tested this myself for a while this morning with Full Break. Despite the NA description, our community sites have its duration structure being:
100%: 1.00, 180 sec. duration
200%: 1.00, 240 sec. duration
300%: 1.00, 300 sec. duration

and they say that it can have a 50% resist duration (90 seconds/120 seconds/150 seconds respectively). I did Full Break half a dozen times against rabbits in Abyssea - La Theine (Easy Prey, approximately level 75) waiting 10 minutes every time and the only debuff I could get to land somewhat reliably was Attack Down, which landed for half duration. I got Evasion Down to land once for the full duration, but never saw Defense or Accuracy down.

So then I tried Armor Break (Defense Down). It fully resisted three times.

I used Weapon Break and it landed once for duration.

I switched weapons from Great Axe to Dagger and used Wasp Sting and Exenterator. Both landed for the expected durations, even though Exenterator gives an Accuracy Down debuff like the one from Full Break that doesn't land.

Then I switched to Great Sword and used Herculean Slash and Shockwave. Shockwave (Sleep) was totally resisted, but Herculean Slash landed for the proper duration.

Switching to Staff, Shell Crusher was totally resisted.

Going to Club, Flash Nova and Brainshaker landed fine, but Skullbreaker was entirely resisted.
