View Full Version : Items won't auto-stack

For some reason my items stopped auto-stacking recently, and now the only way to get single stack-able items to stack, is to use the inventory Sort:Auto|Manual menu buttons.

EDIT/UPDATE: Setting the menu config 'Inventory Sort' to 'Auto' seems to force items to stack, but my items would stack (without this set) previously for years, so I'm not sure why it stopped now. Is this normal behavior (to only stack when inventory sort is set to auto)?

To my knowledge, your inventory never auto-sorted itself without enabling the configuration setting to allow it to do so. This setting was not implemented until some time after the game's release, so the default was to manually sort your inventory.

You must have accidentally changed your auto-sort setting by accident.

If your items auto-stacked without using the auto setting in the game, you were using a windower plugin called "lightluggage".

I definitely wasn't using that. Somehow my items were auto stacking without the need to auto sort. It was this way for years and only changed recently - I'm stumped. Is it possible my computer actually wasn't auto-sorting properly (i.e. bug/glitch) but could still stack somehow?

Totally didn't predict a reply like that :p.

It's possible, but it's more likely that you are misremembering or were really using lightluggage.

Some dialogs award items, and those items are auto-stacked where possible, regardless of auto-sort setting. (I think Forbidden Keys fall under that category, but I would have to check.)
