I was doing the past bastok quest called the truth that lies hid, where you have to trade an elixir to one of three imps. In trading to one of them, my game froze, and upon logging back in, the npcs are being non responsive. Trading to any of the 3 should result in a pass or fail of the quest, allowing you to start it over or move on. Trading to them does absolutely nothing now, and they each just keep saying the same hint. Ive gone back to previous npcs to talk to multiple times, ive gone to future npcs in the quest, zoned obviously, restarted computer.. I tried contact SE support center via email, they told me I had to call or do live chat. I tried to do live chat, but there was no option to do so with my described problem, so I chose billing problem instead, and sure enough got the option to live chat. Live chat told me there was nothing they could do either, and to post a thread on the official forum and file a bug report. Thats what Im doing now. Basically, I just want the quest reset on that character, and not to lose all the progress up to that point. I completed said quest on another character prior to this too, so I know it wasnt any error on my end other than freezing at that exact moment. Hopefully someone can lend some new advice.. Thanks for reading in any event

man.. and that one was a pain to get through too.

Just to confirm, did you check the displaced block to see if you got the cutscene or not? It sounds like you got hit with that odd glitch going into a CS that likes to rear it's ugly head now and then....hopefully it still flagged that part of the the quest complete so you can move on to the central teleporter.

I didnt try talking to displaced block but I did try talking to the ??? in the SW teleporter room, which youre supposed to before displaced block, and was told nothing out of the ordinary here. Ill try talking to displaced block too but, Im doubtful..

edit: talking to displaced block did nothing either. None of the npcs prior to trading elixir will say anything new, nor any of the future ones. Each of the three imps are still just saying the same hint theyve been saying now (not in a little cs like normal, just regular text), and trading to any of the 3 does nothing. Its as stuck as can be;;...

I just want SE to go in the account, reset the quest, and let me move on... but everyone Ive been in contact with thus far has claimed to be unable to help..

Sadly if the community, Game Masters and the Square Enix Support Center are unable to assist then you may have a bug on your hands. As it seems that you've followed the Bug posting guidelines (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/69-Welcome-to-Forum-In-Game-Bugs!) well we can move this over to the bug forums so that we can maybe get some more attention to your character.
From previous instances like this it can sometimes be connection related. Essentially, the character is trying to access an area on a different port and are unable to do so, causing a hiccup, then you're in a catch twenty-two type situation where you've completed a quest but not, I suppose? Perhaps logging in from another location or connecting directly to a modem may give you a shot at completing it correctly. In the meantime, especially if this isn't the issue that's occurring, we'll get this to the bug report area.
