This is literally the worst, most frustrating account setup I've ever gone through. Who in their right mind thinks this is at all customer friendly. Square really needs to review their site, cause I can see why FFXIV was a joke.

While registering, everything is extremely vague, I never realized I could add the game to my trial account by going into my account page, the customer service rep on the phone didn't even tell me I could do that, when I specifically asked if I could, they instead told me to add a new service account. So now I've lost my entire day playing yesterday, cause I have to reroll my character, unless someone knows how to transfer my trial toon, to my new account that I didn't have to make.

Edit: I also paid for another character slot, which I didn't even have to do cause you get one for free apparently?

Double edit: Is there any chance a GM will reply to e-mail on the weekend? Or am I hooped until Monday?

Triple edit: Okay, deleted my trial character and will now start anew, thanks to the useless customer service reps. Like it seemed as though they didn't want to talk to me, they spoke extremely fast and barely told me any information, they wouldn't wait for me to go through the menus. What are those people getting paid to do? How can your job be so hard that you can't sit there and talk to someone on the phone about how to register/add game codes to their account.

Quad edit: Just made a new character, still a trial. This is getting fing ridiculous. Going to eat something and then make ANOTHER character to see if that will take up the fing content ID slot.

Now it says my expansion packs aren't installed. Where do I go to download them?

You might just need to input a registration code in the account management.

Well so far so good. If you're still on the first few days you shouldn't have incurred any charges yet. It also sounds like you've created a Square Enix ID and a PlayOnline ID and password (that's the hard part). So once that free trial expires you'll need to transfer that free trial into a full game by going into the Square Enix Account Management System, clicking on Select Service, then PlayOnline/ FINAL FANTASY XI, then under the PlayOnline ID you've made there's an Options list button. Here it will ask for your registration code from the full game purchase which will turn it into a full account and will register all the expansions at the same time. At that point it will be asking you for payment information and how many character slots (options) you would like. If you've already created a second PlayOnline ID with that retail registration code then that is the full account and you'll want to start playing on there.

Yeah I already made a new account because the customer service rep failed to tell me that little bit of important information that I could upgrade my trial account. The dude seriously wouldn't let me finish navigating menus and wasn't helpful at all. He talked extremely fast like he didn't want to be on the phone with me anymore, probably cause they were going to be closed in 15 mins. If you ask me I should be reimbursed for the game time I lost, since I had to delete my trial character to use the name I wanted. Or that kid who couldn't even help someone for five minutes cause he had to get home to do so many important things, should be reprimanded in some way.
