Skill Up Issue

I was in Abyssea Altepa tryin to level up Sword Skill on Mandys there and I was hitting away with a skill of 400 (natural skill of 379 with 16 from merits and 5 from Mavi Kavuk+1 for a total of 400) and I got no skill ups. Even with food I got 0 skill ups from 45 minutes of smacking away. Not even a Parry skill up. I have skilled up here before with my Monk and even capped Hand to Hand and Guard here. So I believe this to be a glitch.

Don't those mandies need to be max level to give skillups that high? If there was no FC-for-cash going on, soloing them would take a while for them to level up enough to give skill ups.

It appears Kristal may have a possible explanation for why you are not receiving skill-ups. Please see if what she said works, and if not, let us know so we can move forward with a bug report.

I believe that Kristal was correct. I changed over to the basement mobs in Gustav Tunnel and skill ups started procing appropriately.
