FFXI fails to load from Playonline

Details:
Ever since the 24th/25th September updates to Final Fantasy XI I have been unable to launch FFXI from Playonline Viewer on the PC. I have a Xbox 360 on the same network which is still fine.

Steps:
1. login Playonline Viewer sccuessfully
2. Select Play or Play on Test server (I got both installed)
3. POL disappears
4. POL comes back with no errors

Date & Time: 25th September around 10:00pm BST

Frequency: Always

Platform: PC

PC Manufacturer & Model Number: Alienware Aurorra 7500

OS: Windows 7 32bit

Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GTS 250

ISP: TalkTalk

Type of Internet Connection: ADSL

Do you have a ROM9 folder within your FFXI install? If so, move/remove it, and try loading XI again.

I ran into the same issue on my test install client.

I had a copy of the ROM9 folder in my main copy of FFXI. Once removed FFXI loaded normally.

So much for the ROM9 folder being useless at the moment. I'm guessing the adding for the logo for the new expansion in the last update has started FFXI to look for the ROM9 folder.
