I was having issues for a while with my connection but now I have have the game playing great. Now the issue is not with FF XI but with other connections. Specifically I have two ATI Digital Cable Card tuners I use with WMC. These are considered network connections by Windows 7. If either or both of these are powered on while I am logged into FFXI I experience skipping in the game. I have gone through and have my router, firewall and computer all setup with the proper port forwarding setup and rules but it still occurs. I originally thought that shutting down WMC would work but it does not. If I unplug the tuners, even ingame, the problem disappears immediatly. It appears everything else works fine but the playonline viewer seems to have trouble with the multiple network connections. Any ideas would be appreciated. I have been considering buying a Ceton 4 channel tuner to replace them but havent done so yet. Its kind of an inconvenience to have to log out to record something, defeats the purpose of having a DVR.

is this what you have
http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=ATI+Digital+Cable+Card+tuners&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=jIP&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=imvns&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&biw=1440&bih=695&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=6451744689709286932&sa=X&ei=Ml1WUNXvIYrxygGM4oHIAg&ved=0CFwQ8wIwAQ
if so it because it taking up you processing power that ffxi is using because there both setup to use the main processor
this can not be changed for ffxi but it might work for the ATI Digital Cable Card tuners

Thats it. Any idea how to set that? I know how to set the affinity for processes but have no idea on that. I'll start Googling......
Found some info on registry tweaks for server systems. Still digging

Well I've been digging and so far I changed the preferences under Advanced -> Adapters and Bindings but that didn't help. I'll try getting onto some more forums tommorow. Prolly check AVS, Toms and Anand. ATI's last firmware was in 2009 and thier website doesn't have squat. All the driver updates are done through Windows update and I think we can all agree how hit or miss those can be. I ussually have my fingers crossed when the splash screen says installing updates.....
Thanks for the quick reply by the way, much appreciated.
