(reposted due to original posting in wrong forum - previous thread reported for deletion)

There was a bit of discussion on this topic posted on http://guildwork.com earlier today, but I figured it was worthwhile to repost it here.

On the S/E Group support for Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Efforts page, there was a list of things that S/E has done to contribute to the aiding in the disaster. However, to encourage participation from the FFXI playerbase, it seems like it would be a great idea if S/E offered a purchasable in-game item, and donated the proceeds to the recovery effort.

2 ideas I had included an additional mogsack type item (backpack?), since S/E has shown that these items 1) are possible and 2) seem fairly simple to add to the game.

2nd, I think a level 1 Staff of Repatriation with a once-a-day recharge would be something that most players would be interested in.

I would gladly donate $10 for either of these items, and it seems like the out-of-pocket cost for S/E would be relatively low.

Any other in-game item suggestions? Do you think this is a good idea?

I envisioned it doing the same as the repatriation option you get from the FoV books - a way to warp back to your home nation once a day.

Maybe I should have named this thread "level 70 cap for abyssea"

It would have gotten a few hundred replies by now if so.

If they rlly wanna get us to hlp then sell a KI like "Moggle Trade Slip". Then trade it to a "Claim Moogle" and get say a lvl 85 Empy wep or a af3+2 of ur choice. IDK bout what u might get but I think the first part is a good idea. Also idk bout price either maybe $10-20?

So everyone would get a level 85 emp weapon? Seriously?

I did. You said get a claim slip and get a emp85 weapon or emp armor +2 of choice. Nobody would take the armor option, which means EVERYONE would get an emp85 weapon.

Don't post if you're not going to use common sense.

Which would be a good idea, because when cap comes 99 these gears might not be the best anymore, so make them easier to get, Hell even if it was like $20 per item, i'd donate 6 times to get full set XD + wep

I was thinking about this the other night, like an item mail system that other mmorpg's use, but i really don't want ff to go down this route.

It would be fine for as you said back packs and such but i think it would ruin the game if you could just buy +2 armor, and this is coming from some one who does not have a full +1 set yet

The fact that you thought your moogle-claim idea was good for even one nano second. . .

What is this... I don't even...

There was already a thread that suggested that we get the option to pay our April fee and/or an add on that would allow us to donate an add on fee but the add on will give nothing. I liked this idea and tbh even signed the thread petition for it.

Sorry I missed that one. I like the idea of giving and not expecting anything in return.

If you go to this link above you can purchase a game or an item and a certain amount will be donated to Japan.

This is a great idea & while there are already many other ways to donate to funds helping Japan (the ones posted in this thread as well as your local red cross many of which have funds to help Japan & many others -just do a search for 'donate to Japan relief' but make sure if you choose to donate it's to a reputable charity that you recognise!) I think this might give some people who might not usually bother donating that little bit of extra incentive they need lol.

A lv 1 item such as the OP suggested I think would work best & a relic. XD

I think its a great idea, when you log in have a donate option for april services. Even if an item wasent offered im sure alot would click on it, i know i would.
