Getting Meteor and Arise scrolls is insane.

Why oh why is it almost impossible for me to get my scroll of Meteor or Arise? Its a part of my job, so why should I have to spend 8-10 million to be able to cast a spell? This is a huge FU to the casual players in the game who are trying to get all their spells. Especially since there is literally only one person on my server who even does VW shouts (looking at you Mattyc and Thanks a million!) so the odds of getting into this fight is almost impossible. So I have to pay somebody else 8-10 mil to complete my spells because SE cannot put it on a quest or add it to more mobs in VW or in the standard game. SE fix this and remember the players do not want to spend 6 years to get all their spells. Go back to the days of quested scrolls so everyone can have them. Armor or weapons I can understand being hard to get and expensive but parts of my job? No thanks!

Because SE knows that adding better mage gear then they already have might actually give mages them a fighting (but not equal) chance with 2h damage dealers for power. Oh, except that Meteor won't be very useful unless you know five other Black Mages who are decently geared to cast it and even then it won't make you outpace a 2h job. Arise isn't perfectly special either because it revolves around dying, doesn't completely remove weakened, and in an situation important enough for it people should be providing their own reraise items, including the White Mage (seriously, carry a scroll of Instant Reraise for emergencies in your sack/satchel at least).

I think the main issue is that neither is really worth the cost, at least not when compared to what the price in gil would get you in terms of gear, even if you are gearing a mage job.

So if you want to get Meteor or Arise you'll have to find a static group that does Legion. Or hope you have a trustworthy shell and that doesn't put you at the bottom of a two year list. Or better yet hope you're a very lucky crafter that can gouge prices as much as possible without going for broke getting difficult levels. Or maybe you can farm ancient currency in Dynamis for a few weeks for two hours of every day and somehow forget that you're paying about a quarter of what a Kraken Club costs for a single spell. Or you can wait a few years and hope for the price to come down.

Meteor is as much part of BLM as Kenkonken is for PUP. With the exception that Meteor is little more then a fancy firework unless you bring 5 more BLMs (why would you do that in this day and age?) and Kenkonken's only flaw is that you cannot Victory Smite with it.

For a mythic spell, it's on the cheap side.

Price will drop as the time progress and more LS spams/clears Mul consistently, just wait.(Unless PD/embrava nerf make legion unclearable again)

If you really wanted Arise or Meteor soon, it really doesn't take *that* long to farm up 8~15 mil. The spells were meant as a "only select WHMs and BLMs will have it!" type thing from the get-go (Pretty sure that was stated by SE themselves when they were released, in fact). It's not like people don't invite you if you don't have Arise (Except, ironically, maybe groups trying to farm Mul).

it's dropping nicely, 20 mil metor, 18 a week ago, 16 shouts yesterday...

arise was 20 a few weeks back, and just recently seen shouts for 12m... it's still out of the average joe's comfort level, but is getting attainable for almost anyone.

just stalk out them shouts, progress as far as you can, sooner than later they will be ours. :D

As people figure out Legion more and more, Mul wins are becoming more common weekly. Some groups are getting several scrolls (of each) weekly. Until SE nerfs PD and Embrava, the supply will keep going up because of that. And depending on how much they'll nerf them, it may even continue afterwards.
