I'm not going to make this an elaborate post like other suggestions, more of a nostolgic post.
I remember back when CoP came out how lovely the title screen music was. Now-n-days, by default the title screen plays WoG music and then goes right back to the original FFXI title music. It would be nice if it randomly chose the title music from all the previous selections. Seems like they are wasted not being heard anymore.
Now the main point of my post: Visuals. Everytime I get past the 'accept terms of service' button it presents the title screen; always N.Gustaberg. every time. N.Gustaberg. Not exactly the most awe-inspiring location. Again, it would be nice if the game decided to randomly load one of the locations it has built into it. Oh sweet Purg. Isle how I love your crystal waters.
I know, I know. Not much time is spent on the title screen since we whizz right by it so we can get to the actual game.... BALLISTA!

I never understood why they made the title screen show a 'random' zone, but not actually be 'random'. I recall they 'fixed' that twice in the past, to no avail.
As for the music, I'm just hoping the new tune that SoA will bring isn't as annoying as CoP's.

Originally it would show only the La Theine Plateau (with a focus on the Crag of Holla) and Valkurm dunes, so it's a lot better now... lol

It would appear there may be a problem with the Windows PC version going into the title screen from the POL Viewer.
There are a total of 19 different areas that can be shown as part of the title screen background. There are 4 ToAU areas, 4 CoP areas, 3 RotZ areas, and 8 areas not part of any expansion which I call Base FFXI areas below.
Originally, there were only 2 areas displayed. They were both Base FFXI areas: La Theine Plateau and Valkurm Dunes. Over time (in 3 or more separate updates), they added the rest of them.
The FFXI Base areas: La Theine Plateau, Valkurm Dunes, North Gustaberg, Jugner Forest, Pashhow Marshlands, Fort Ghelsba, Beaucedine Glacier, and Qufim Island.
The RotZ areas: Ru'Aun Gardens, Sanctuary of Zi'tah, and Yuhtunga Jungle
The CoP areas: Al'taieu, Carpenter's Landing, Bibiki Bay, and one of the Riverne Sites.
The ToAU areas: Aht Urhgan Whitegate, Wajaom Woodlands, Mount Zhayolm, and Aydeewa Subterrane.
When the Title page display starts on my Playstation 2, it is always showing one of the 8 Base FFXI areas. Once the first one completes, it can select any of the 19 areas available. It's pretty much random. The area display lasts close to the same length as it takes to play the music one time through. The first one will be the WotG music, the rest will be the original title music (which I believe SE calls the Vana'diel March). And it does not matter if the title page is brought up as it is just after loading FFXI (and acknowledging the stuff in the blue box), or returning to the title page from the game with a /logoff command. (The /shutdown command does not apply here.)
The problem on the Windows PC version is that when the title page is being displayed after loading from the POL Viewer, it seems to ALWAYS display North Gustaberg. I would venture to guess they start some kind of randomizing process after the blue box is acknowledged, and the decision on which area to display is made exactly the same length of time after that randomizing process starts, so it always gets the same random answer, which happens to result in a display of North Gustaberg on my PC. It does still pick any of the 8 Base FFXI areas when returning to the title page from the game after a /logout command.
Not exactly a big bug, but it still might be nice if it could be fixed so that PC Windows Users could get some variety on the background display on the title page.

And since Xbox360 is essentially just a slightly modified version of the windows copy, that's why the bug exists on that platform too. boo-urns.

Just commenting, FFXI for Windows differences at the title screen might be intentional/by design instead of "a bug".
On a side note it seems like they finally fixed the NPC freeze glitch on the PS2/PS3 version on the last big update ...
