Unable to login

Steps:
At the character selection screen, once I chose the character I want to log on with, I get stuck at the **** Downloading Data... **** screen. No matter which character I select, I end up with the same issue and eventually, it times out and I get the following error message dialog box.

I tried to log my 2nd account from the same PC and it works so the problem is really on the FFXI server side.

Error Code: FFXI-3001
No response from the Final Fantasy XI server.
Connection Timed out.
Press OK to shut down.

Seriously, this game needs 24/7 support...

Not a tech but it could also be a corrupted file your character has on your end.


Start a new separate POL log in. This fresh log in might resolve corrupt client data on your character such as "Macros, Map, Spell orders and client settings. People have had this issue before so it might be the servers.
