Ya know, something I have always wanted to see in this game is actually wild Chocobos. We see them in other FF games, we see them in the CSs for the Chocobos quest (I think) so why wouldn't there be any? We should be able to fight on Chocobos we raise and there should be wild Chocobos added to the game in certain areas! :D

Wild chocobos are rare because most of them were caught and domesticated. There are other animals that were present during the Crystal War, but went extinct. There used to be deer in Ronfaure.

It's be nice if there were a few left in the past though no? I mean it'd certainly give the game a little more flavour. Plus what about being able to catch and tame your own Chocobo? (BST OP anyone) It'd be a pretty fun experience and would add a bigger element into the virtual pet system that is Chocobo Raising.

Existing wild chocobos are a protected species, and are not allowed to be caught.

That's a shame, even in the past? I'm not overly well versed in Vana'diel Lore I'm afraid.

Chocobos are a food group. Bring in wild chocobo hunting for meat, feathers and beaks, then create recipes for chocobo fingers, brochettes and stew. YUMMMMY
