i've seen this "World Map" up on wiki and other websites for like 3 years now... i think that it would be cool to expand our horizons because there is much more vana'diel to explore i think, and not to mention, how obvious is it that only half of the aht urgan continent is in use lol =)

anyways, for future updates/addon discussion, instead of opening up different dimensions and such via atomos, why not expand vana'diel? the mithra say they are from a land to the south, theres somewhere to start.

and why not use this template to expand the 90~99 areas, since the level caps are said to be increasing to 99 soon

ive got more on my mind regarding this but hey i might as well get this thread started =D

It's a fan-made map but nevertheless I do agree, I would absolutely love to explore the rest of Vana'diel. It would be a great way to integrate higher level monsters as well.

SE could also make Tavniazia accesible for the level cap increase from 90-99. What I mean by Tavnazia is the real one, the one with the huge natural bridge with a castle on top, the city taken by the orcs in the opening cinematic. It should be an interesting place to visit. By now it should be beastmen controlled. SE should make us retake the city. That would be cool.

They won't comment on the map for at least three reasons:

1) It's not official. SE didn't make that map.

2) If they ever plan to implement any of those areas, it's likely still in a pre-developmental phase (i.e. they might have a rough idea)

3) If they ever plan to implement any of those areas, they'll let us know in the form of an official announcement corresponding to the version update/expansion it applies to.

i was pretty sure that PS2 limitations meant no more large zones, just copies of them. hence WotG and abyssea together introducing only 3 full zones, WoE and paradox (tiny zones)

^This. Sadly, the continuation of PS2 support will not allow for any new areas. Heck, they can't even add new terms to the auto-translator because of these limitations.

I think you need to drop PS2 to allow it.

You could allow it for people that dont play ps2 i guess, where ps2 owner just has acesss we have now.
