View Full Version : An idea about bonus in-game items.

Please consider allowing players to buy in-game item reward codes with cash or Crysta. I'm talking about items like the Destrier Beret (without buying the full game itself), the Tidal Talisman, Spinet, Shell Scepter and Gobbie Mallet, that sort of thing. Maybe even the Moogle Suit too.
Didn't say the idea was creative. :p
I saw that Blizzard did this several years ago. Yes people whined, but they made a *ton* of money off of it. That sparkly horse earned them an absurd amount of cash within the first day.
I just think it would be a smart move. There are a lot of people, including myself that are bummed out about missing out on some of these items. I would gladly pay for these vanity items, and I'm sure others would too.

I think they should make those items available to us from within the game, not purchasable. And I say that despite having bought a Tidal Talisman. It was a dick move back then and it would still be a dick move now.

That would be better, but I don't see that happening.
I hate feeling like I'm left out because I missed some promotion, or even worse, because I live in a different country.
It would just be nice to have access to the vanity items. Plus, c'mon... what company doesn't like profit?

I wish they did have some way to get the in-game items w/o having to purchase the real-world counterpart, but I doubt it'll ever happen cause the people who payed full price would bitch. They might be able to get away with it through Mog Bonanza or raffle or w/e the hell they have to legally call it nowadays?
Also, should Paula Deen really be drinking while piloting that flying cat?

I bought the full game and still didn't get an item.
I don't think game has the back-end to support any such features. The Destrier Beret issue has been a real gong show.

The Destrier Beret fiasco is a good point. My aunt was affected by it, Duve managed to get hers right before the fiasco began. I can't recall any other item redemption issues but I doubt the Destrier Beret was the first.
And Shadax: No, no she should not. Never a good idea to drink and drive, even if you are driving a flying cat.

The one company that doesn't is the one that we're talking about.
Look at how:
1. They haven't remade FFVII, even though not having to go through the certain stages of a development (story scenario, script, battle system, monster/town/item concepts, composing new music, and so on) would really cut costs, and FFVII's reputation and the demand for a remake would mean huge sales.
2. They didn't release all of the already-developed Duodecim DLC in North America. They just stopped before finishing, even though they released the Squall costume in Europe and Japan and Gilgamesh costume in Japan.
3. They haven't put the Tifa and Cloud costumes for Duodecim on the PlayStation Store, even though their codes have expired and they are now impossible to get.
4. They don't listen to the players of FFXI, instead doing their own unpopular thing, and the've lost maybe even hundreds of thousands of dollars because of that.
