There are some annoying little CSs in the game that we should get the option of turning off.

2 that get me the most are in Hall of the Gods

Going through the gate
Using the teleport elevator

CSs to get past the gate to get onto boats/airships are the devil. The only purpose they serve is to watch it float/fly away right before you can get on it.

These are swear moments. I'd like them gone.

Also, the Port Bastok drawbridge. Grrrrrrrrrr.....

I love the Ru'lude Gardens elevator. It's a blatant timesink and a strike against setting HP in Ru'lude.

hey guys, a bit of a news flash. It is a final fantasy game. Small CS are sort of, a ff thing. These last no more then 10 seconds -1 min. Not something to complain about really.

I don't recall another FF game where I had to watch the same CS 1000 times. The little CSs were fine once, and the OP has asked for an option to turn them off, which I would do after enjoying them once. As usual, you're oversimplifying. The situation is not the same.

I didn't say I hated the opinion. I just find it silly to complain about a 10 -1 min cs that chances are you gonna go afk from anyway. I use that time to get a drink or walk around. So there is ur option.
To be honest I'm shocked it took this long for this thread to be typed. lol.

As long as the ps2/ 360 can get it as well (prob not) then cool.

I'm sure we all have ways of dealing with the issue. I haven't actually stared at the screen foaming at the mouth a thousand times. My problem isn't your opinion to keep this CSs required, it's the idea of justifying their existence as defining parts of the series.

FFxiv has the option of skipping through these types of CSes. Bring that here.

And while you're at it, Square, could you please bring the adventurer's log that allows you to view any CS you personally seen? That would be greatly appreciated.

Guys remember this is a 10 year old MMO. This was back in SE's heyday, around FFX, when long random animations and cutscenes were in. I think the thinking was that they add character and depth to the game's world. It's also much more appreciated in Japan, where they don't mind dramatic cutscenes for useless stuff, or extra random animation for random stuff.

Remember that they're fixing a ton of things; I don't know if they'll ever eliminate these cutscenes, but if they do, there's a ton of stuff I'd rather them fix first. And I'm sure they want to fix some more glaring issues first.

eh it doesn't take much honestly... just implement a skip button.

you be surpised how much it does actually take to have a skip button. You gotta code EVER cs with it.

as for reviewing cs...

1) goblin spawn areas at start of zones have that just trade an item and you can rewatch said zone cs.

2) minstrals also replay cs they can be found in any town just pay them.

So you're a programmer now Rosina? Stick to things you know, oh wait...

No, we are never surprised with your opinion.

There really are not that many CS like the ones removed from entering WoE or VW to deal with changing or that need to be changed.

To say how easy this would be, they did it with Prov, simple as that, can be done, just a matter of if they will do it for other things as well.

never stated I was a programmer, but... It isn't as easy as you assume there is no one button press and boom ALL cs are skipable. There are a ton of cs in this game. You would first have to reprogram said cs to allow such a feature then program a button to do it. Then you would have to have said button be used for any system. There is alot more work to it then one can assume.

i would also like to remove many of the short, unneeded CSs. (well, skip them, whatever).

No, 10-30 seconds is not a lot of time, but 10-30 seconds, multiple times per day, week, month, year, decade...it adds up. A skip option would be wonderful.

I have no opinion whatsoever about the mini-CS's as I could take them or leave them at this point, however, since it's been brought up, I would really enjoy a way to play back past CS's in order and in one location. Particularly, some of the CoP stuff I did when I first started playing brings back fond memories and I'd like to be able to take off the LS and leisurely replay all of my old CS's from the comfort of my MH without interruption.

Most those I agree with, but I kinda don't mind the hall of gods one. Maybe its because I don't go through it much anymore due to having sky warp, but it always to me was a nice little reminder of how exciting it was to get sky access way back when.

I can't count the number of times I've missed a ferry or an airship entirely because of the stupid "walk through the gate/walk through the door" cutscenes. Seriously, they serve no purpose, they add no story benefit, they don't do anything but piss people off, so there's no reason to keep them around.

Stop running your mouth about things you don't understand then?
Coding is not that difficult. Especially considering what SE has been able to produce lately from their scripts, changing something as tiny as this would not be difficult at all, just a bit time consuming.

Yes, there is some work involved...that is why they pay their Developers.

Unfortunately, I think they were put in for a purpose. My guess is that this was added as a way to prevent using Tractor to access places that require quests/missions to open.

Still, there is nothing as frustrating as missing the airship by 5 steps and you just know that the CS is why you couldn't board.

They could add a skip button, but would it be worth being able to sneak attack from the front, or having the worms chase you through Qufim?

That is based on a true story, long ago (I want to say Dec 2004) worms could chase you until there was an emergency maintenance.

Son of a bitch, I started at the end of december 04, did I seriously miss that?

I agree with the OP. These CSs may be a minor nuisance, but there is no good reason they shouldn't be removed altogether after the first time, or have an option to skip them after viewing it once. They already implemented this with the Provenance entrance (which, honestly, was one of the most irritating little cutscenes of all), so obviously it is possible to make changes/improvements in this vein.

I have another example, just in case the community team should happen to take a look at this post and manage to
ignore the fighting to see the point of the topic. By the way, am I the only one who finds it tiresome that every single thread quickly devolves into the same 5 or 6 people yelling at each other? Does no one's parents teach them anymore that if you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all?

Entering/leaving Tenshodo. I find this irritating when I just want to buy some crafting mats.

I don't claim to be a programmer, but why would this be so difficult to implement? Why would we have to add this to thousands of cutscenes? Global functions, anyone?

void skipCutscene(currentCutscene, playerSkipButton)
{
if (playerSkipButton = true)
{
endCutscene();
}
}

One I completely forgot about, atleast they put the BCNM warp NPC on the Jeuno side of the door and not inside the Tenshodo.

Get rid of the Bastok drawbridge since the airship flies through it everytime anyway and make the job swap "Set HP here, bro?" capable of being turned off in Config and there will be much happy.

They should just make it an option you pick when talking to your Moogle, and so that there are no accidents, ask if you are sure 1st. Then it should be fine and people wont get that problem which is annoying and common.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the stupid ladder CS in Phomiuna Aqueducts. That's what I was expecting to see people bitching about but in four pages no one did so I guess I'll have too. I hate that CS.

Why do you get to decide what people can and can not complain about? If you don't agree thats fine and stating you're opinion on why you disagree is fine too. It may not be a big deal to you but you're not the only one who plays this game and if people wanna complain about stuff then that is fine as well. You just seem to have a habit of saying things like this in these threads.

I have a soft spot for the Aquaducts ladders. Soloing for my subligar, those were like a zone-line when I mischarmed the jellies so they can stay.
