New crafts are being added in the expansion. One craft that I would like to see would be spell crafting. Basically, the ability for a crafter to put different materials together to make the scrolls that sometimes drop from Notorious Monsters. The low level spells like Stone could be made at level 1 and at higher levels, the higher tier spells like Comet would be made which the appropriate ingredients and 'pages'. Pages could be materials obtained from creatures in the new zones and perhaps could be obtained by reaching certain ancient places within the game (such as the Temple of Uggalepih) and getting the appropriate key items to make the spells. These could be required to advance to the next crafting rank.

Did I miss the memo? I don't remember reading anything about new crafts being added, nor can I see any place for them, especially given how brutal synergy ended up being towards the other crafts... Also, there would be absolutely no profit, or point, to this one, since it would be based entirely on one-time-use-per-character consumables that most people at this point have no reason to need, and the vast majority of which can already be purchased very cheaply from npcs. Suddenly being able to craft the rare scroll drops would absolutely destroy the value of them, and would really end the need for anyone to ever bother with BCNMs. I'm sorry, but this is an absolutely terrible idea.

First of all, well over half the spells in the game can be purchased from an NPC and many others have specific quests attached to them. So that leaves just the rare drop spells and the solution is to create an entire craft devoted to them where you have to farm multiple components for a chance to make them after spending hours, possibly days of game play time to get the skill high enough to attempt them?
Pass.

Seekers of Adoulin will see the addition of new guilds, yes, but they will be more like the fishing guild as I understand it.
