Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I thought it would be interesting if SE were to add one final level - level 100. Now, they wouldn't make it so EXP was required to hit that level, but completing some kind of quest.

I've always enjoyed the job quests that you had to do to either unlock the job, or unlock AF. However, after you get your final piece of AF1 the story just ends. Adding a level 100 that would have to be unlocked PER job, at the difficulty of something like a relic or magian would be pretty cool.

Not to mention, it would allow SE to add new job abilities and merits, as well as gear specifically for level 100s. I'm not sure how they would go about it, if you could only have one or two level 100s, or if they'd allow you to unlock every single one. This is where hopefully some of your input comes in. Anyone else interested in something like this?

While it's an interesting idea (which I personally oppose for stylistic purposes), it has actually been suggested by SE themselves before. They asked players which they preferred, 99 or 100. Everyone said 100, so they went with 99. So I doubt anything's gonna come of this either way. Ostensibly there was some sort of balance involved in the decision. Apparently they were fine going from 75 to 99 without upsetting the balance, but Lv100 was clearly too much.

It is funny because it is true. However, if they ever do make it level 100, I would like it to be represented by a star or two so it will be an indication that it is truly the final increase. In addition, I think using the job storylines to get the final level with some fun challenges is a perfect and brilliant solution. A final showdown in some BCNM type area would be fun and satisfying. As it stands, you can get to level 99 naked. This would add a reason to actually gear up on the job to get to the final level.

Maybe something like Job Mastery would work. Do a series of quests (a set for each job), then gain a mastery title and stars or something to indicate your level (ex. RDM**/BLM49 (or possibly 50 if they want to do that)). Also be an interesting way to release new merits for the job too (ex. RDM would be able to merit enfeeble potency, enhancing potency, melee capabilities etc (again each job different)). Just an idea, open for suggestions of course.

I think many of us would want the story, a lot of them end rather abruptly and with no explanation. Any rewards beyond that would just be a bonus. But honestly, it could just unlock a single piece of gear like the Rajas Ring, or an extra merit category (that you don't have to choose between, but rather a new thing you get to merit freely) for your job. Level 100 would have more downsides (Level 5 Petrify) then upsides (subjob options) in some cases. It should be something less noticed if anything.

Whatever it is should be unlocked per job, but it shouldn't be so insanely difficult like that, especially since it would be tied to story.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. SE already admitted this was stupid. All or nothing, we don't need another either/or merit system in a game that is mostly unique in that one character can do it all given enough work.

Basically, I'd like to see the extra story lines, then bundle maybe a bonus item or something with them (or a bonus item and a new emote). Mostly make it something fun, and mildly challenging, then toss in a slight incentive that you can show off. Personally there are a few job storylines I'd like to see completed.

I was only throwing that out there as a compromise, however I agree with you... it should be available for all jobs.

Level 5 petrify would actually mean something again if they raised the cap to 100. :P
