An idea for us when/after 99 cap is reached.
Epic Limiter: A limiter given to you by kupofried himself. Has the properties of a limiter, plus a new epic mode for adventurers at level 99 seeking new ways to improve their trained limits.
Quest: Shouldn't be tough, but definitely not just "Talk to the moogle in Ru'Lude Gardens" like the Limiter.
Epic Mode: For a short time, you gain epic points to go toward a new "merit point" system. However, this is a short duration, with cooldowns inbetween.
*Duration: 5 minutes.
*Cooldown: 10 minutes.
*Effect: In addition to limit points or experience points, you gain epic points at the same rate.
Epic Points: Similar to merit points from limit points, every 10,000 epic points unlocks an epic. Epics are used in your moghouse while on a job at 99 to buy new stats, abilities, traits, etc.
Epics: Spent just the same as merit points, including the same price. However, due to the increased challenge of acquiring epic points, it'll take longer to buy these upgrades.
Some example effects:
Tier 1 epics for every job: (15 upgrades per job. Cost: 1-2-3-4-5 per category.)
Merit Point limit: For every one purchased, expands how many upgrades may be spent in the Tier 1 merit points category for this job by 2.
(Various other upgrades available.)
Tier 2 epics for every job: (15 upgrades per job. Cost: 3-4-5-5-5 per category.)
Merit Point limit: For every one purchased, expands how many upgrades may be spent in the Tier 1 merit points category for this job by 1.
(Various other upgrades available.)
Several other categories that include skill caps and attributes, plus new extras categories including physical damage -, magical damage -, casting time -, pet attack+, pet defense+, and various other things merits don't offer through shared categories.
The Quest:
When you talk to the moogle that gave you the limiter and increased your post 75 caps, he mentions that there's a better version of the limiter that Kupofried has made, but, since no one knows where he is, you're stuck with the one he developed himself.
When you zone into each city, you see an afterimage that kupofried has passed through the city recently. When you have visited the 3 nations, return to the moogle, and you see an afterimage of Kupofried giving his limiter to the moogle there, and the moogle plays dumb at first. But then he offers to tell you if you do something for him.
Once you get him the item he asks for, he trades it for the epic limiter.
Kupofried's weapons:
One weapon becomes available through various quests similar to the emote quests. When completed, you get a weapon special to that job that allows you to gain a nice bonus while in Epic Mode, such as a specific bonus related to the job, and a nice new weaponskill that relates to your job, such as "Aftermath: You gain a refresh effect." for summoner.
