Dreadful skillup rate on silk cloth

I'm level 51 clothworking, so I expect a few breaks trying to make a level 53 item. 16 stacks of silk thread, 4 breakages, and I only get 0.5 skillup? I've never seen a clothcrafting recipe this bad ever. I expected out of that much silk thread to get from 51-53 and still have 7-8 stacks left over. What's going on? Did clothcrafting get broken?

Nope. Welcome to the 50's.
Eat Kitron Macaron to boost crafting skillup rates. A bit expensive (6-7k a piece on AH), but lasts 30 minutes (60 minutes with sigil/sanction food buff) so more then worth it.
