Is fishing completely crap for anyone else after the update? I didn't manage to get to the test server before the update, and now my framerate drops to 15 from 30 when my line is in the water. THIS is their fix???

I guess, re-reading their notes, this is indeed what they said they would do. I didn't realize the upper framerate limit would be less than 30, I figured they would do something to make sure it wouldn't go higher than that. Man this might ruin fishing for me.

I'm not really up to date on things... what prompted this change from SE in the first place anyways?

I believe there was a disparity between what a PS2 player sees and what a PC/Xbox player sees. Essentially it's easier to reel in on the PS3 because the processor is slower, resulting in lower framerates. Legendaries are challenging to reel in, but this is not a step in the right direction.

It was unfair it was so easy for PS2 players to fish when compared to other methods.

Easier fishing sounds nice and all... but how does it feel? :\

I'll get used to it I guess. However, I do find it strange that the graphic they use to announce the update on the website shows people fishing. It's almost like they tried to communicate this change as some exciting new feature or update to fishing, when it really isn't anything like that at all.

This should be optional setting for PC and 360 players then not forced. If it benefits the PC/360 gamers then the gamers client should get the choice to enable or disable the advantage. Flat out locking the framerate to 15 for everything including the chat log makes a high end computer seem like its a Nintendo Gameboy from 1990ish.

It's so fragg'en simple to fix.
