So I'm thinking I want BLU for my first max leveled job. WHM and BLM interest me as well.
I've been searching the internets but am having trouble finding a good answer to this question...
- What jobs should I level ON MY WAY TO BLU? I know many subjobs work with BLU but on my way there what to level?
As a side note I may get stuck on WHM or BLM and that may be my main but BLU just sounds fun. Also I want to be needed and play a non overplayed job...thoughts on that?
Thanks!

I leveled war for the swords skills, but I've seen some awsome blu/blm

I suggest leveling warrior, dancer, and ninja. Those tend to be the subjobs blue mages use. If you want to get 99 blu as soon as possible you probably want to level warrior to 30 for subjob quests -> ninja to 49-> blue mage to 99. You'll have to do a lot of questing to get enough fame for the ninja scroll quests. Save up your zinc ores and yagudo bead necklaces! And then you'll need to do a lot of missions to get access to all the monsters that have blue mage spells. Hope that helps!

Thank you! I was leveling mage jobs first but this makes more sense. I know once I have BLU I'll have to level a bunch of other sub jobs.
Any other advice appreciated!

I'd even say level WHM a bit for learning your spells in your lower levels. So you can BLU/WHM for low damage TP feed and back up curing for those times the mob just doesn't want to use your spell.

Not entirely sure what low damage TP feed is, assuming I'm feeding myself TP with my low damage? BUT I like that idea of backup curing to give me more time for a mob to use it's spell so I can learn it, thanks!

spamming dia and banish for low damage, so that the mob gains TP more easily to WS on you, for that chance that you'll learn the appropriate blue mage spell.

I've heard some people prefer to use white magic because the Blue Mage healing spells level up Blue Magic, but take from the Healing Magic pool of skills.
