I was wondering why SE never gave anything to summoners for completing all 6 level 20 mini fights? I always thought the carby mitts should have been given as a reward for this since you can only use carbuncle. I'm pressed to find a summoner who have actually done these fights and think there should be something you get for doing all 6. Even an atma now would be a nice touch but personally i think it should be something awesome for when you reach lvl 99.

Wanna know what your reward is? Not being able to instantly warp to avatar crystals....doesn't sound very rewarding now huh?

I think its retarded not to do the 20 capped avatar fights, and I encourage people leveling Summoner to do them. Its really a good experience for Summoner's to do. If you cant walk to a protocrystal you shouldnt be an adventurer imo. You shuold get like a mini evoker's ring from doing the 20 capped fights.

I think the reward was that you got avatars at level 20... back in the day they were hard to get >.>;;;;

That is true but we got the same avatar that everyone else got who did the lvl 65 fight, i think maybe we should have gotten a scroll that gave summoner their one and only magic spell which heals our avatars.

I did all the 20 Cap fights, and they were by far one of the most rewarding, fun, and challenging fights I've ever done in FFXI. It was truly a thrill to experience, Especially when i was a nooby, SMN was my first Advanced job, and the avatar fights were so cool back then.
I'm saddened a SMN would pass them up because SE decided it'd be fun to remove the ability to Cloister Warp upon win.
I think Being able to Cloister Warp Should be a Bonus for Completing all of them, Not removing it. That doesn't seem too unfair as a Reward.
Though, a Mini Evokers ring, It would be hard to make a "Mini" Evoker's ring when its primary awesome-stat (perp-1) is at its lowest possible. Though... What would be called? I think.. "Carbuncle's Ring"
Maybe, instead of 1 for completing them all, give us 1 Ring for Each Win lol. How bout: (Sorry this website doesn't seem to have "spoiler" Tags enabled.)
All Level 30, SMN only.
*Ifrit's Ring.
Fire Resist +10
Ifrit Perpetuation Cost -1
*Shiva's Ring
Ice Resist +10
Shiva Perp. Cost -1
*Garuda's Ring
Wind Resist +10
Garuda Perp. Cost -1
*Titan's Ring
Earth Resist +10
Titan perp. Cost -1
*Leviathan's Ring
Water Resist +10
Levia. Perp. Cost -1
*Ramuh's Ring
Lightn. Resist +10
Ramuh Perp. Cost -1
And maybe the reward for beating ALL 6 would be:
Free Cloister Warps Any time, Any job, and a "Carbuncle's Ring"
Carbuncle's Ring lv.20
MP+10 Summoning Magic Skill +3
Terrestrial Avatar:
Perp -1
(Terr meaning Carb/Fenrir/Diab.) It'd be a nice inv-7 :3

i agree, i can ask smn's on my server and only like 5% actually did them and 5% claim they did by can't give details of the fight so i know their lying and 90% just got friends to get them for them. SE should really make some reward for the summoners who did these fights with carby by their side to show the deed they did.
I have been told i'm the best as smn by multiple people on my server and the numbers keep going up, I have even restored faith people have in summoners since there are too many wanna be summoners who think its just a job were you summon and attack and burn through mp as fast as you can. I account my knowing the job to the fact that i did all the lvl 20 fights and hold them dear to my heart as a great moment. I managed to do all 1st time except shiva.....(i choose 65 fight as 20 smn T.T) but got her when i choose the right fight lol.
These fights are the most important part of getting to know smn and should really have a reward for those who choose to do them.

I've done all the mini battles (except for Ramuh), they were absolutely awesome.
Back when I was a beginner Summoner an LS told me that they could help me get Ramuh, and said I could still do the mini battles.
I guess either I understood them wrong, or they understood me wrong, but afterwards I was saddened to learn that in fact I couldn't do the Ramuh mini-battle after all.
But the mini-battles that I did, the memories of those are very precious to me.
And even today, the most interesting job (and almost the only interesting job) on FFXI for me is Summoner.
When I get rid of the Perp with the Caller's Attire+2 gear, I'm so taking on the original primes one by one, just for the lulz.
In any case, I agree, the mini battles teach a summoner a lot. Heck, you learn one of the most important things, and THE thing Summoner is great at: Kiting.
Your avatars aren't nearly as strong as some pets of BST and or a PUP's puppet, so kiting becomes the thing to do to beat stuff, and so far it's worked great with many battles I've had.

I am sick of all the smns that say that a smn that did not do the lvl 20 mini fights fail. SMN was my first Advance job I unlocked though took sometime for me to get it to 75 since I prefer to have all spells before I take a job further.
I wound up getting them by helping people get them and walking there on my DRG75. I did not take my smn to a ASTRAL BURN until I got 75. I soloed the primes everyday once I got SMN75 for the easy 60k. I loved kitting Bombs in Ifrit's Cauldron. I never went to a pty that wanted me to main heal. Though I did not do the mini fights I DID learn the the job from soloing.

I also did the mini fights. I unlocked summoner soon after I could on FF and did not have any high level friends. The only one I won on the first try was Titan and I did Ifrit six times before I finally won. Yes an extra reward would be nice. Also it has to be very cool and useful to a 99 and exclusive to the mini fights. I like the idea of a spell to heal the avatars or an exclusive atma. How about a spell to Cloister Warp that works kinda like Dem-Mea-and Holla. The reward would be the ability to Cloister Warp from anywhere. They would have to have a way to make it exclusive to mini fights; So you could not just toss your usable forks and get the spell. If you think about it they really should reinstate warp for the folks who did the mini fights. It would make sense that a character with a pact with an avatar could warp to the crystal. One last thing I still have my used up mini tuning forks sitting in my mog locker as keepsakes.

Ok noob question here. I just recently returned to FFXI and have been lvling my SMN job. I had all the prime avatars up to fenrir. My question; is there a 20 cap battle for Diablos?

I don't feel SMNs who didn't do the 20 Fights are any worse than those who did do them. I only thought that it is a wonderful, enjoyable experience for a new player. It was truthfully the single most exciting and enjoyable experience I had in the early years of the game. It also teaches you Kiting and survivability early on, Even though you can still learn it later :)
I literally went to bed excited to do the next fight the next day. even when i failed i was excited to try again.
