Hello,

I have been playing FFXI on and off since the day it was launched in NA. I am highly considering reactivating my primary account, which is on Asura, and continuing my adventure. My primary interest is in completing the missions (I've only got as far as defeating the Shadow Lord, except for dabbling a bit in the other expansions and add-ons) and experiencing all the content the game has to offer other than book burn parties and grinding in Abyssea.

I want to find a group of players I can join that wants to do the same things; missions, adventuring, and leveling in traditional 6-man parties sometimes instead of just book burning.

So far I've found potentially promising groups on Ragnarok and Bahamut after browsing these forums for a bit. What would be the best server to transfer to?

i like the sounds of what your going for. myself, i'm trying to start anew and just can't find folks to do it with. book burning solo and in alliance is the most boring, no? also, i'd love to clear/see all the content that's out there. unfortunately, all this takes commitment...!

Yep, FFXI definitely feels like a job a lot of the time. Though that's how MMORPGs were back when it was initially created. Hard work, theoretically rewarding gameplay experience. I've been told it's pretty easy to at least experience the story if you just level up a job to 99 and get some decent gear, though. I just love hard-won battles and the story battles kind of lose their meaning to me if I easily trounce the bad guys since they removed all the level caps. I kind of want to do a forced-oldschool mode where I only fight story line battles at their original level cap lol.

I've been looking into the Cynosure LS on Ragnarok and they seem like really cool people who might be into all this stuff. Ragnarok seems like the server I'll likely be transferring to once I reactivate my character in August.

FellowTravelers on Ragnarok is definitely good for this, and has been what I've been doing sine I joined them. Missions are mostly soloable/duoable for a level 99 job.

Traditional 6-man parties are rare on any server, due to them being one of the least efficient ways to level now. Leveling was removed as an obstacle so that you could just jump into events you wanted to do. Someone that refuses to party can still level solo with book bonuses and an NPC buddy, but slowing down 5 other people that want to level just isn't done anymore.

Thanks for the great link and the plug for FellowTravelers. I will definitely look into it.
