So, I have recently returned to FFXI (I had been dabbling with FFXIV), and while most of the changes and differences were not remotely jarring, the crafting system is an unfortunate exception.
I don't mind the lack of input, but I was reminded of the fact that, unlike in XIV, being 15 levels above a recipe does not particularly guarantee success. A run of bad luck can easily, for example, shatter close to 20% of your synthesis attempts, which is extremely frustrating. I know it's not the norm, but it isn't so infrequent to be a non-issue, either.
Is this irritating for anyone else as well? Are there plans on the development side to implement either more of an XIV-styled system, or at the least alter the breakage rate for recipes beneath your level? I know they weren't mentioned in the road map, but it would sure make crafting a lot more pleasant...
