Well recentely I just subbed to FF11, payed 20$ plus 20$ more for crysta. Well I can still login to my account on the webpage. But everytime I try to start my account on playonline it says.

Incorrect playonline id or password...

This can't be right, I know my password and I didn't change it. The thing is my laptop crapped out so I transferred my game over to another computer. I didn't think this would be a problem because many online games have this in case your computer craps out. Anyway, I was just wondering how am I ever suppose to log back in again with no password (even tho I never changed it). It literally took me 3 days to sub the first time, now its repeating the same hassle all over again. Why do they make this game so hard to sub? Its no wonder wow has more users...

All I wanna know is there a number to call customer support? Cuz the help menus on their websites aint helpin at all. I just wanna call someone and get this straightened out. I payed for 2 months and I haven't gotten to play much at all thanks to this crazy playonline. Has anyone ever had the same problems I'm having?

Usually when these come up, it's the simple mistake of using the wrong user/pass pair, or the saved info was mistyped for the POL set in the client. Multiple layers now, POL userID and password, SE AM user/pass, and token (if enabled). You can even go so far as having a local user/pass just for starting the client. May have mistyped the user/pass in the saved POL info when you linked up FFXI on the second system. I had a hard time when I put POL on my lappy a few months back... kept typing the numer 0 instead of the letter O. /fume.

I just don't understand playonline, I've used blizzard services, 360, ps3, etc... And I've never had so many problems with them. I just don't get it, why make this so hard for people? I have all my information besides the damn playonline password which they never said to write it down ever. I just don't know what to do, I'm not a genius about this stuff, I'm a paying customer. Usually you can call them and ask them to fix it with most services anyway. What am I suppose to do I don't know what to do?

This is the first pay service game I've ever subbed to and so far I'm not getting a good impression...

Through the support portal via your region's POL site (Service and Support, Contact, Customer service, do the FAQ search for account/billing and password issues) Don't click the links returned in the search, just click the "Next" button and you will get contact options listed.

What you may ultimately need to do is just reset the passwords if you aren't sure you are getting them right. If you do this through contacting SE, you will need to verify you are the owner of the account and may need several pieces to the puzzle like POL ID, details about the payment method (CC info and such). It's a lot easier to try to reset it yourself through the SE Account Management page if you are able to log into it successfully:

Under Payments and Services, click the button for "List Options Continued Automatically", then click the button for "Options List". Scroll down to the bottom and you will see buttons for updating POL information.

Well that's a start, I can login to all the online browser accounts. That's why it strikes me as odd.

When you add a member to square enix you can add your old account right?

Yeah. for the SE AM, you just need to have the SE ID/Pass correct...but for the game, you need all the exrtra pieces matched up. I'd try settting a new POL Pass on the site, then changing it in your POL settings to match the new password. That's ultimately what I had to do when I was having my brain-fart on the letter "O".

Forget all the inner workings....but you really want to have it restricted to one unique SE ID to each POL ID regardless. Will save you problems in the future (ie: recent mog bonanza, could only do one entry per SE ID).

Edit:
note some of the nomenclature has changed with the new SE system. Your characters are now called options and such... it can get a little confusing...have to read everything closely when you are poking around in there now.

Well I changed the POL password and it still didn't work, its almost like its picking me up as a new user or something. Only thing I can think of is calling support, they don't have a number or anything? Why does playonline make this stuff so complicating? That's what I really don't get... Either way spending 40$ on a game that won't let me play doesn't make me very happy.

There should be a number listed several times in your manual....or you can use the support portal's contact pages. The one in the back of my manual (NA) is not Toll Free: (858)790-7529

I did the digital download, its still telling me the same thing, even when I changed the POL pass... I just dunno, I don't care if there's a fee attached to I have to call someone, this is getting so annoying. I really woulda gave up by now if I didn't spend 40$ on this game. I think their service is absurd honestly. Maybe if I'd had an easier time I'd think differently. I was really thinking about WOW, but the FF fan in me gave this a chance, I'm really kicking myself now cuz if I had wow I'd probably be playing about now. But yea I'll use your number, and if they don't help I seriously doubt I'll ever do business with playonline again.

Have you ever used the service and how much do they charge you? This game seems like a money pit, a confusing money pit.

If you are having this many issues with logging in you are gonna love it if you buy a token.

While we do apologize that the system is giving you some difficulty, unfortunately this forum is not the proper avenue for discussion of such issues. As we have stated in the past, this forum is for the discussion of technical issues with FINAL FANTASY XI itself, and not anything related to the account management system. For further assistance, you’ll need to contact the SQUARE ENIX Support Center for further assistance. Since this is not a technical issue with FINAL FANTASY XI, we have closed this thread.
