The code is registered properly and shows in my account history, but of course Festive Moogle doesn't know what I'm talking about. Has anything been released on this issue at all? I've seen no other acknowledgement other than the consistently copy & pasted moderator reply.

That "copy and pasted" reply means they know about the issue, and are indeed working to fix it.
However, some things, despite popular consumer belief, take time. They'll fix the problem, They have to supply you the goods you paid for, They're not going to forget and let it rot. Its an unfortunate issue, But It has to do with the game itself, So thats the biggest issue, It would have to be looked into by the development team, or someone who knows the game.
I'll tell you what they'll tell you, be patient, it will be fixed.
