Looking at the concept of the job i can see one flaw w/ geomancer
If buffs are none moving AoEs wouldn't geomancer just fail in any content were you can't keep the mobs in one place or your roaming which i'm sure is over 50% of current content atm.

My first thought was, "Man, that new mage is going to die in one hit having to stand next to the tank."

Well, I seem to remember something about the Geo casting a moveable buff on himself, therefor effecting any one he is near. There are obviously different buffs related to the bells on the ground too tho, so Idk. They may only be 100% useful in non moving content. That or it will very simple to place the bells on the ground and back up again during each fight.

They mentioned two types of fields. One was around the GEO and moved with him. The other could be placed around a player but was subsequently tied to the geography, so wouldn't move with that player. I'll call that the stationary field.
I'm having trouble seeing this play out in some current content too. This is just how the buffing and enfeebling fields work, I believe. It remains to be seen how the elemental magic will be affected by the moving issue. They mentioned Polarity controlling the bonus to the magic based on position relative to the mob. But again if we're moving around you'd have to be conscious both of where you are moving your own field and what bonus you want. Hmmmm.
The biggest concern I had from the beginning was the need to be close to the front line to maintain your field on those members. Maybe that's what the stationary field is supposed to address. If we can be close they'll get dual benefits. If not, we live with a vulnerable stationary field on the front line and our own field on the back line. The website description does say the fields will be extensive. If they make the fields large enough AOE might not be as big a problem as we think. This might also open up the possibility for future JAs and merits that give GEO an AOE damage self-mitigation.
My biggest request for the moment involves visual representations. If half my functionality is going to involve my distance from other players, it would be nice to see some sort of visual sphere or circle that moves with me to tell quickly if people are in range.
