Just out of curiosity, I've heard some people stating that both Geo, and Fen, would only have access to their Empyrean(af3) armor sets, is this true?
It seems kinda of unbalanced for for both of these jobs to not have their traditional AF, and Relic sets, when every other job in the game does.
I know they are new, and most people will say, that AF, and Relic are useless now because everyone has hit cap, but in the case for new players when they start playing at the launch of SoA, they are not going to have the luxary of cool job specific armor sets to look forward too until level 90+. Honestly that doesn't feel right in my opinion?
What do you guys think? No af/ relic, or should both jobs have the same treatment as the other 20 jobs.

I wonder where these people got their information from. Maybe you should ask them.
I'll take a guess though:
"I heard it from someone who read something somewhere that was written by someone who had heard it from some guy in japan who saw it somewhere"

How would ANYONE know what gear Geo/Fen would have access to, when no such information has been revealed? Judging by what they were showing at VanaFest, it doesn't look like they have anything down solidly at all, yet.

Listen. To. No One. The only thing known is that these are two new jobs being added with the expansion pack. That is it. Nothing else about these jobs was even hinted at, let alone released by SE during the vanafest because those details have yet to be ironed out.
Any theorycrafting, any rumors, and any "reliable sources" are just gossip at this point, and shouldn't be taken seriously.

I've heard that the new jobs will only be able to wear subligaria. Unwashed subligaria. On their heads.
I heard it from a guy who knows a guy whose cousin gazed into a bucket of fresh chicken's blood.

So we'll get to Adoulin and find Brygid furiously trying to unlock and level both jobs.

They did say quite a bit more on the live feed than what is posted on the write-up, but there was no mention of artifact equipment.
I would be fine with only empyrean. Inventory space problems are my worst complaint about the game now. If they make the GEO and RFN empyrean as good as the other jobs' I'd prefer not to have to macro in another possibly 10 pieces.
The sad part is I'll be stuck with that bedpan hat on GEO. At least I'll have a reason to use /displayhead.
As far as new players not getting to experience job specific armor until level 80+, I'm not inclined to care. I don't plan on spending weeks leveling the jobs, I'll be getting to 99 then learning them as well as possible, so lack of artifact gear before 80 won't bother me.
My biggest worry is not having the gear available on job introduction. The tradition has been to wait, ostensibly to see what stats would be best. I guess I'll have to live with generic AH gear or multi-job rare/ex blandness for a while.

No information has been released. The dev's probably haven't even thought about it yet. The jobs are still being developed.
This is what happened with ToAU/WotG jobs:
AF1 came out 1~2 updates after release
AF2 took years (literally) before SE implemented them into Dynamis
But who knows, maybe SE will surprise us and add all 3 in as soon as SoA comes out. I can say with 99% certainty that both jobs will at least get AF1.

I'm not too fussed w/ Relic since emperyan is the new base endgame set.
AF i feel is important since it helps you lvl the job and the storyline behide the job imo is very important.

This isn't reliable resources I'm speaking of when I say "I heard from someone". During the live feed I was in a chat room with someone who was partially translating. Including my girlfriend who speaks Japanese fairly well. A developer mentioned in the feed about something related to only having Empyrean gear for the new jobs. This isn't 100% for sure, but regardless the main question is just rather or not people would mind them having AF/Relic or just only empyrean.

I like this ^. I agree, I think the AF/relic plays some important story elements for the job which I would definitely love to hear.

A developer mentioned ... about something ... only having Empyrean gear for the new jobs.
One of the many problems with translations, is that the same remark could have been about "how to add Empyrean armor (without creating a paradox in story logic)"; or that "the AF-type equipment for the new jobs would be obtained in a similar manner to the Empyrean armor, only within the new regions/zones."
I hate that these forums are going to get overrun with speculation and theorycrafting for the next 10 months, but... there we have it.

Empyrean Armour will be fun to get if they stick with the current system, when everyone on the server levels the new jobs, yet only 3 NMs drop the seals.

Why do people think relic sucks so much? The +2 gear with augments are generally pretty good.

While you all level the job, I'll be killing the NMs that drop the seals. Then once you all have the job levelled and need to camp on top of each other, that's when Ill go unlock them and level up ;p

That's a good idea, but SE's past experience tells me that we won't actually see any of the job specific armor for these jobs for MONTHS after the expansion release.

personally i'd like to see an af 1 and 2 set for both the jobs.as with every other job in the game, they'll have some sort of job specific benefit on each piece. while some of these pieces will be of no use [ usually ones that only grant skill bonuses], one's that grant specific benefits to the jobs new abilities will be very helpful macro or full time pieces.

There's usually a couple of good pieces, situationally. Wyrm Armet and Asassin's glove thingies spring to mind. But you don't see people wearing full AF2 because the basic stats aren't really good enough.

No such thing exists.
