i was trying to skill up and used drain. it landed and did damage, but did not recover hp.
drain II had the same result, but instead raised my max hp while recovering none.
dread spikes activates, but recovers no hp as well. was working fine an hour ago on these mobs so i know its not my skill level. anywhere i go now, i cant recover HP using drain.

can anyone explain whats going on?

Is any of this on undead, and is your HP at max when you use these spells/abilities?

no its not on any undead, it was rabbits and lizards and no my hp was usually 424/1409 due to not being able to heal by drains xD

You can sort of tell Llana_Virren has been a Computer Help Call Center person before by the answer. I feel your pain as I used to do that for a few years before I could no longer handle stopping and assuming people were incredibly stupid before jumping to more complicated problems that could occur. Thankfully, step one in an MMO forum does not have to be "Is your computer plugged in and your network cable connected."

As you're saying that your max hp is going up when you use Drain II, I'm not sure what would cause that issue, but I know certain spell effects and job/pet abilities have been acting a little wonky recently. I'd probably have to lean on someone playing with server side files. Try again in a few minutes and hopefully, it will clear up, if not, I'd recommend a GM directly as they might be able to pass it to someone faster than a response from an administrator on the forums.

What belt are you using?

<Accursed Belt>
Hidden Effect: â– Afflicts player with a status effect similar to Zombie when equipped, meaning you cannot be cured in any way.

Ooo, that's a good one actually. Good ol' zombie status. ^^ Nice suggestion!

I wish I was paid like one, sure, but no. The issue is that, statisticallly, the most likely solution is the one overlooked. Never assume someone is stupid, but also never assume that they thought of everything.

My follow-on question would have been if he was inflicting himself with zombie status, however since that was already suggested, I'm limiting this post to pointing out that trial-and-error is supposed to go from simple-to-complicated. I'm sorry if my order of operations somehow implied that someone was stupid. Silly me.

I do apologize if I came off wrong Llana. I only meant to joke a bit about the tech support response. Sometimes my jokes come off in ways unintended.

Hello shadowrokker24,

I am glad to hear that your issue was addressed and you were able to use drain properly again. If you find that even without the belt equipped you experience the same issue, please feel free to post here again. Enjoy your day, and good hunting!
