Square Enix and the Development team,
remember when the FFXI developers said, "There will be no more expansions after this, No more Folks, Ect...". So your players looked inward for their playing style. Then you adjusted the game to its highest potential by raising the max level. You cannot just choose to make a NEW expansion, you havnt even finished WoTG or AhtUrghan zones. Keep working on the Local FFXI element as it is today. It is still quite rediculous in the amount of time it takes to build a mythic weapon. you have but so many GREAT jobs on the backburner, SMN, need tweaks, bad. PUP, needs tweaks, bad. WAR, Needs Tweaks bad. DRK... COR... the list grows. SE, adding more zones will not attract a bigger player base! we payed extra money for the additions to both zones that are not finished. Now we players want to see new stuff in what we got now. So lets try fixing those first, then ill look into something that takes place in 2013, IF there is a 2013!

Actually the new expansion is attracting a bigger player base. Go read forums, there are tons of people saying they are going to resub for this new stuff. Including myself, and a lot of the FFXIV player base as well.
Aside from the fixing current content issue, I see your point, but in most players eyes, ToAU, WoTG, etc.. are all completed, they've played those story's, and have experienced everything the developers have put forth in regards to that content. Sure they could spend the next three years tweeking job adjustments, zones, mythic weapons, etc.. but if they did that, then people are just going to get bored and move on to something that is actually "new". Honestly, in that last couple of years, FFXI has seemed like a dieing animal, simply because the only "new" thing, was minor adjustments, and that's is something you want to continue?
Sorry, but this game needs a refreshing element, I know a lot of people who have been away from this game since before Abyssea, who say this is the kind of content they have been waiting to resub for.

Agreed, that said I hope some huge tweaks will come with the Expansion.

I wouldn't doubt some new tweaks will come into play to make room for the new jobs. Actually I heard last night about the possibility of removing resists from the game? I'm sure that's just the tip of the ice burg though.
The thing about adjustments though, is that is ALWAYS an ongoing thing, I mean you can look at any developer notice and see that "job adjustments" is continuously listed for fixing, because simply, they will always need adjusting. I'm not sure there will ever be a perfect balance.

Hello everyone,
Thank you all for posting in this thread here, we do appreciate your concerns over the recently announced Expansion Pack. Though this is more a suggestion and does not go in the Bug Report section of the forum. So we will go ahead and move this thread to a more appropriate location. Thanks again for posting and have a great day.
