Recently I installed a new hard drive and had to format it and put Windows 7 back on the computer. I re-installed the drivers for the computer, etc. I downloaded FFXI through Steam and when it was finished I attempted to open the game. The POL opening page comes up and then my screen blacks out like it's opening the viewer, but then nothing happens. It just goes back to my desktop. I open task manager to see what's up and there is no instance of POL active in the list programs in task manager. I tried it again and the same thing happens. I tried opening POL viewer as an Admin and it got to the screen saying I needed to update my version of POL and then it promptly closes out. No error messages or anything. It just closes out. It does this every time I try opening POL. I even uninstalled the game and POL completely and then re-installed. Still does the same thing.
Before installing the new hard drive and re-installing Win 7 FFXI had no problems working on my computer. So I'm not sure what the problem is. And no I can't put my old hard drive back in and try opening it that way because my old hard drive died. That's why I had to replace it to begin with.

Computer is a Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop.
Device Manager says my graphics card is a Mobile Intel (R) 45 Express Chipset Family Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1
Before installing the new hard drive and re-installing Win 7 FFXI had no problems working on my computer. So I'm not sure what the problem is. And no I can't put my old hard drive back in and try opening it that way because my old hard drive died. That's why I had to replace it to begin with.
